Vaneetha Risner contracted polio as an infant, was misdiagnosed, and lived with widespread paralysis. And then her husband betrayed her and moved out, leaving her to raise two adolescent daughters alone. This was not the abundant life she thought God had promised her. But, as Vaneetha discovered, everything she experienced was designed to draw her closer to Christ as she discovered "that intimacy with God in suffering can be breathtakingly beautiful."

Amazing book

I thank God for the author’s raw honesty and vulnerability in sharing her heart and journey with us. I’m truly grateful that the author didn’t attempt to hide her own weakness. We get to have a glimpse of what it truly means when God’s deepest work of sanctification is achieved through pain and suffering. Truly an edifying book that helps us to see the faithfulness of God even in the deepest valley. The author helped me understand what it looks like when we learn to lean into God when life is hard.
