Publisher's Summary

The warrior has finally met his match.

Nikolas Danshov is the Mohiri's finest warrior, fearless and lethal with any weapon. For almost 200 years, he has devoted his life to keeping humans safe from the demons that walk the earth. Revered by his people, he is a legend in his own time, a warrior undefeated in battle, and prepared for anything. Until her.

On a routine job in Maine, a twist of fate brings Nikolas face-to-face with the one person he had never expected to meet: his mate. Sara Grey is unlike anyone he's ever met. Beautiful and fiery, she ignites his desire while her innocence and vulnerability awaken a fierce protectiveness in him. Now all he can think of is keeping his mate safe from the dangers that hunt her, even if she fights him at every turn.

You know Sara's story. Now hear it again through the eyes of her warrior.

This book is considered upper YA due to some mature content.

Disappointingly Bland

Loved the three books that went before, so I thought this would be in the same vein. But I was very disappointed. Not quite sure whether it was the writer or the narrator, but it just felt so... emotionless and bland. The only reason I stuck with it was because I loved the previous books so much, but I found myself slogging through just to get to the end. The 20 hours really aren't worth it just to get Nicholas's point of view.

Nice counterpoint for the series

This book is really only for people who have read the Relentless series. There are major gaps that you have to fill in from memory. Being told in first person, our hero has no way of knowing or telling us what else has happened - key things that you need to know for pieces of this to make sense.

Regardless, I did enjoy the story. It was a bit long but still fun.

Zachary Webber is a great narrator!

I've read and listened to all of the Relentless series. When I tried to read warrior, I couldn't get into it as much as the previous books. But then I got the audio version and I listened to whole thing in a few days! Zachary Webber really brings this book to life and his narration is fantastic. Definitely recommend the audio of this book - but you need to have read the first 3 books (the Relentless Trilogy told from Sara's POV) before reading this one to get the most out of the story.

Nikolai's POV

I usually don't like books that tell the same story that's already been told, just from the other person's POV. But I really enjoyed hearing Nikolai's views on things, and how he had managed to track down Sarah time and time again when it hadn't been explained in the other books. This book tells the same story that the first 3 books told from Nikolai's POV and ties a lot of loose ends up. Greatly told, and I can't wait to read the last book coming out soon!

Amazing book dragged along by a monotone narrator

Would you listen to Warrior again? Why?

I'm more likely to read it again myself. The author did a perfect job of telling the story from Nikolas' point of view. It is absolutely one of my favorite books.

The narrator, though...ugg. He is the reason I probably won't listen to the audio book again. I will avoid anything he narrates in the future as well. He has a nice voice and does a good job of catching the hint of a Russian accent (this character is not supposed to have a strong accent but just a hint of one) but that is the extent of nice things I can say about him. His performance was about as exciting as listening to someone read an instruction manual for putting together a bookcase. He is completely monotone, he is reading but not at all performing. Life and death situations sound no different than ordering a meal at a bar. Seriously, zero difference. His tone for female voices is terrible as well. If you need a nice voice to put you to sleep, you've found it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Warrior?

Sara and Nikolas after the final battle. Hearing the story from his point was awesome and so well told. In general, hearing how deeply he felt for her throughout the book and how he felt in different situations was really fun.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Zachary Webber?

Just about ANYONE else. Steven Barnett, Vikas Adam, Eric Michael Summerer, or Luke Daniels all would have done an amazing job and pulled you into the story so much more.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hearing Nikolas' point of view when Sara was missing after falling off the cliff. The author really captured the pain her family felt during the time she was missing, and the joy of having her back.

Any additional comments?

As with the previous books in this series, the author does such a wonderful job of creating characters that you fall in love with. So many authors in this genre create characters that become overwhelmingly annoying and have no real redeeming qualities other than that they are physically attractive. Karen Lynch captures personality in every character that you really become attached to, well when you read it yourself anyway... this narrator dehumanizes the characters with how monotone he reads them.

What Every a POV Book Should Be!!!!

I had waited months for Warrior to come to Audible and it didn't disappoint. So many POV books only cover half of the overall story but Warrior covers all 3 Relentless books in one Great Book. Yes a lot of information is repeated but it's great to now know each side of the main characters different thoughts and reactions about the same conversation. How I wish ALL authors were as detailed with our favorite characters thought and feelings to their situations as Karen Lynch has been in this Wonderful story.

I loved it!!! Great Series!

I waited patiently for this audiobook to come out. I preordered it and as soon as I could I listened to it! I had already read the kindle version and it was awesome listening to it.

Narration was amazing! I loved it! His voice was perfect for Nikolas!

I would suggest that you listen/read the first 3 books in this series before getting this one! You will appreciate it to the max! This series is one of my favorites and I can hardly wait for the next book on another one of the amazing characters in the Relentless World!

Thank you for an amazing series!!!

awesome

this was such a great story. the story was fantastic in tye trilogy and didn't lose any of it's charm and breathlessness in Nikolas' POV. Zackary Webber was the perfect choice as Nikolas.
