I found this book disappointing. It is not a true description of life on Lewis. The hots MacLeod has for McGrath goes on too long. I got a little excited when the story went to Ness, an area I know very well, but no. The narrator did a horrible Lewis accent. It sounded more like a Shetland accent. I will not be reading the other books in this series.

I won't be finishing it, and will try to return it. I don't enjoy the characters at all. There's a religious and judgmental overtone against women. While his young, busty partner tries to put him in his place, it seems as if she might change her "wild" ways to fit in with his obviously superior world view.

I found McLeod to be very creepy. Too much attention paid to his female coworker. Will not purchase anymore
