Publisher's Summary

Journey deep into the Scottish Highlands in the first memoir by #1 New York Times bestselling author and star of Outlander, Sam Heughan—exploring his life and reflecting on the waypoints that define him

"I had to believe, because frankly, I had come so far there could be no turning back."

In this intimate journey of self-discovery, Sam sets out along Scotland's rugged ninety-six-mile West Highland Way to map out the moments that shaped his views on dreams and ambition, family, friendship, love, and life. The result is a love letter to the wild landscape that means so much to him, full of charming, funny, wise, and searching insights into the world through his eyes.

Waypoints is a deeply personal journey that reveals as much about Sam to himself as it does to his audiences.

Well written

I see similarities to my husbands use of physical activity for mental healthcare.
He took up running to help him cope

A great listen!

I loved the Outlander series before it became a TV show, and Sam doesn’t disappoint in his portrayal of Jamie Fraser. I loved this book because it gave me a glimpse of the man behind the character, which always interests me. It makes him real, human, and entertaining. I love listening to books narrated by their authors.

Pleasantly surprised

A meaningful journey in both a physical and emotional path towards self awareness. Found myself pleasantly surprised around the mindfulness additions to hearing Sam’s background and point of view on life and career.

awesome book

I loved listening to this book, Sam is very easy to listen to and I love the Scottish accent. He gives the listener a real life account into some of his personal life and it makes him more of a person and less actor.

Loved it

I enjoyed listening to the author reading it and loved to hear his experience of this walk. Maybe one day I could also do a little of that walk myself.

humble humor great read!

I began watching outlander and found myself searching history to learn more about a place my grandmother once called home . which then in turn brought my self to the books . the fact rich story makes it feel so much more real and because I tabooed and watch the show before the books didn't hinder them if anything brought the characters to life. yesterday I was looking for something to listen to as I drive for a living and came across waypoints I found myself laughing and gripping my steering wheel to hear what happens next thank you for sharing a piece of you with everyone .
