Andre Scheepers grew up on a farm in Rhodesia, learning about the bush from his African childhood friends, before joining the army. A quiet, introspective thinker, Andre started out as a trooper in the SAS before being commissioned into the Rhodesian Light Infantry Commandos, where he was engaged in fireforce combat operations. He then rejoined the SAS. 

Wounded 13 times, his operational record is exceptional even by the tough standards that existed at the time. He emerged as the SAS officer par excellence; beloved by his men, displaying extraordinary calmness, courage, and audacious cunning during a host of extremely dangerous operations. Andre writes vividly about his experiences, his emotions, and his state of mind during the war, and reflects candidly on what he learned and how war has shaped his life since.

In addition to Andre's personal story, this book reveals more about some of the other men who were distinguished operators in SAS operations during the Rhodesian War.

This is a superb book about incredible men that served with distinction. A story about a nation betrayed by the West. An account by men who were there that fought for human prosperity against Communism.

UK, Canada and USA are the most corrupt Nations on Earth. I have ZERO respect or faith in my government. Everything we know in the modern world is a manipulated and manufactured lie.

Rhodesia was the last attempt at Sovereignty from the corrupt Crown and it failed. Now the world is ruled by completely corrupt Leftist elites. The West and anything patriotic I once felt, is dead to me. I have no allegiance to these Western governments. It’s all lies.

An enthralling book, superbly constructed.
The narator, while speaking very clearly and with authentic enthusiasm, stumbles badly with his place name and numerous basic military and individual name pronounciations.
So while the content of the book is serious, and holds the reader / listener in awe and often induces serious reflection upon the numerious tragic outcomes and events; the wild pronounciations are a distraction.

The narator should have been turored in this regard. A single editing would have corrected most of the errors.

The Author understandably omits and revises a number of details through this narrative - as most speaking on Rhodesia will. No one wants to be in the wrong, as the author introduces as the reason for this narrative. Still, the authors' choice of names for their adversaries conpared to their remebering of race relations in Rhodesia should offer indication of the authors stances.
