Barely made it to chapter 2
Going to ask for a refund of my credit and just read the book myself. The narrator is absolutely horrible. Whispering the whole time and just sounds horrible. Unfortunate, as this is my fave V.C. Andrew's series

Reader makes the mistake of saying “Tony” instead of “Troy” several times making it very confusing. Good voice intonation.

Heartbreaking story...
I read this novel a very long while back, and I had forgotten how very sad Leigh's life had been. A wonderful novel... Very true to the mood and genre of V.C. Andrews. I know that many reviews have commented on not liking the narrator's "whispery" voice. I was also a bit irritated by the narration at first; however, I did really get used to her voice as the novel progressed. Please give the narrator a chance. Also keep in mind that the narrator is narrating the voice of a very shy and very quiet and oftentimes very scared 13 year old girl. A girl who is also speaking to the readers through the words of her diary. I think the narrator was thus trying to convey a "secret" and "private" sort of story telling mood. If you give the narrator a chance, you will be drawn in by all of the emotion she very successfully exudes portraying Leigh. I also felt that the narrator did a wonderful job changing her voice for all of the various characters.

Did not enjoy this at all
I couldn't even finish it. I read the Casteel series as a teenager, and was excited to enjoy the audiobooks. This one was terrible from the breathy performance of the narrator to the story itself. Normally I would finish it even if the story was bad, just to finish off the story, but I just couldn't handle Robin Eller's reading of it.

Annoying Narration on a Good Book
The last book in the series is the Prequel and gives the reader the back story of Heaven’s Mother Leigh VanVoreen. Probably my favorite series by VC Andrews.
But it was ruined for me by the terrible narration by Robin Eller. Too breathy & whispery, sounding like a Child. I found her voice nauseatingly annoying and could not even finish Chapter One.
Candace Thaxton and Andi Arndt gave much better performances in their narrations.

Stop whispering!
I’ll never listen to a book with this narrator again. This is agonizing.
To be fair, her non-protagonist voices are fine. Maybe because Leigh is a child? Bizarre whispering, too dramatic, and betrays a frustrating lack of familiarity with the text.
Edit: I really hope Audible pays attention to these reviews. Listeners are owed something back for consensus on this godawful reading.

wish I had read it myself
I have just recently started listening to books, I love to read but, finding the time is hard so listening to them being read is great! It would be nice to have the same person reading an entire series but still not bad...except...this narrator. The minute she started reading I was annoyed. She is way to breathy almost like she's whispering. Each sentence she reads reminds me of a rollercoaster, I barely made it through the prologue. I hoped it would get better in the first chapter but I'm only what seems a paragraph in and I had to stop. Super disappointed

DROVE ME CRAZY!
I said several times while listening to this book, "I HATE this book!" what I hated the most was the narration. She WHISPERED the entire time, making it hard to hear, even with my volume all the way up and earphones! I barely made it thru the damn book. I will NOT be listening to it again!
