Publisher's Summary
Zach Adams is one of the best detectives in the country. Nicknamed Cowboy, he serves on a federal task force that has a single mission: to hunt down Dominic Abend, a European gangster.
After a brutal murder gives them a lead, Zach feels like he's finally on Abend's trail. But things get complicated and very, very weird. Zach is beginning to suspect that Abend's evil goes beyond crime - perhaps to the edge of the supernatural.
In a centuries-old forest under a full moon, a beast assaults him, cursing him forever. In the aftermath Zach is transformed into something horrible - something deadly. Now the good cop has innocent blood on his hands. He has killed - and he will kill again - in the form of a beast that can't be controlled or stopped.

Wow.
I could not stop listening. The story is thrilling and mysterious. The characters seem so real, like people you might actually know or meet. The narration was so captivating I finished the story in two days. I absolutely recommend this audiobook and will be buying other titles by the author.

An engaging story with klavan's signature flavour
Although the title seems corny it is one of the best books I've listened to in recent memory. The character's moral struggle was reminiscent of Mary Shelley for the unrealistic premise and yet the all too relatable hardship faced by the most important characters.
This story has deep underpinnings of a strong sense of right and wrong while wrestling with the temptation of sin; an idea that today's society would do well to seriously consider. Well done, Klavan!

surprised
I originally started listening to this book thinking that it wasn't going to be very good, I just needed something to distract me from my dental appointment. despite its name werewolf cop is actually a really good book. the first chapter kind of drones on, the author gives a lot of backstory right up front to every character, but the rest of the book has some nice pacing, and a realness that makes it feel right.

Best in moral fantasy since CS Lewis!
This is the first book by Mr. Klavan that I have read and I cannot wait to take in all the rest of his bibliography!! What a great introduction to his writing!
The story started out a little slow, film-noir style, but quickly developed into a "movie in your head" type thriller, demanding your full attention. A bit predictable at times, but nonetheless gripping and powerful, it tied together undeniable modern-day evils with timeless human strivings, pushing through towards faith, hope and goodness. A good vs evil yarn presented in a unique new light. This is definitely one I will remember and revisit. Bravo, Klavan!

Made even better by the author’s narration
I have long been a fan of Andrew Klavan having been a subscriber to The Daily Wire and listening to his podcast. I have also read several of his books, and book series, and really enjoy each one. He has such a talent for weaving the reader into each story as only he can. I have thought about subscribing to Audible for some time, so decided to give it a trial run and picked this book as the sample. I have looked at this title before but always assumed it was a horror story of some type (hence why you should not just read the headlines!). It was also a nice surprise to hear the author narrating, I mean, who needs Michael Knowles? (Another Kingdom series - SUPERB series!!). JK, he did a great job. Anyway, I highly recommend this book, or any book by Andrew Klavan, and if you haven’t already, go ahead and subscribe to The Andrew Klavan podcast. All excellent!!

It's not about the fall, but the recovery.
Werewolf Cop is the story of a detective trying to bring down a villain who's larger than life while both the detective's personal world and the world at large are burning down around him. His determination and conviction are balanced against his shame and pride to steer him down a path that will change him forever.
Andrew Klavan, as author and narrator, brings this fantastic story to life. The story is well written, engaging, comical, and thought provoking. Some of the most personal struggles a man can face are addressed in a frank manner that emphasizes the plot rather than seeming to preach. Characters are a fantastic blend of fitting a stereotype on the surface, but still having depth that makes them real and unique. The pacing carries the story phenomenally well, but may make the book a bit too hard to put down at times.
Even a good man can make a mistake. It's not the lack of mistakes that makes him good. Rather, it's what he does afterward that determines the quality of his character. Everyone is flawed. With faith, those flaws can be overcome.

Excellent, different
I was skeptical about my ability to enjoy a werewolf story but I like cop stories. It was delightful. I plan to read more of Klavan’s work to see if they are all so well written and unique. Good plot, well written characters and I couldn’t put it down.

Klavan delivers profundity in a werewolf story.
This is a really great piece of writing and hearing it read by the author adds important tone and emotion.
The title may turn away listeners who would thoroughly enjoy the well developed characters Klavan has created.
There are profound moments within and they’re set up artfully. Highly recommended
