Publisher's Summary
Join Robyn Carr, number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Virgin River and Thunder Point series, as she explores the healing powers of rural Colorado in a brand-new story of fresh starts, budding relationships, and one woman's journey to finding the happiness she's long been missing.
Between the urban bustle of Denver and the high-stress environment of a career in neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan has hit a wall. When an emergency high-risk procedure results in the death of a teenager, Maggie finds herself in the middle of a lawsuit - and experiencing levels of anxiety she's never faced before. She knows she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can think to do that is Sullivan's Crossing.
Named for Maggie's great-grandfather, the land and charming general store at the crossroads of the Colorado and the Continental Divide Trails have been passed down through the generations and now belong to Maggie's eccentric father, Sully. When she shows up unannounced, he welcomes her with open arms, and she relishes the opportunity to indulge in his simple way of life. But shortly after she arrives, Maggie's world is rocked once again, and she must take on more responsibility than she'd planned.
Though she's relieved a quiet and serious-looking hiker, Cal Jones, is willing to lend a hand, Maggie is suspicious of this mysterious man's eagerness to help - until she finds out the true reason for his deliberate isolation. Though Cal and Maggie both struggle with loss and loneliness, the time they spend together gives Maggie hope for something brighter just on the horizon...if only they can learn to find peace and healing - and perhaps love - with each other.

I was wrong
The first chapter made me think right away, this was going to be just another Robyn Carr, girl is hurt, finds new boy and life is good. Well it kind of is, but as usual Robyn address several illnesses in this book that are very rarely written about. Yes, we have a brilliant, beautiful doctor and a mysterious man who is an attorney who fall in love. The story goes deeper than that however. Maggie, is under a lot of stress and Cal is trying to redefine himself after losing his wife to a rare disease. His childhood is very unusual so before Maggie and Cal can deepen their relationship there are things in their lives that need healing, and secrets shared. It is well worth your credit, even though I was a little skeptical in the first couple of chapters. Of course, Therese Plummer always delivers an outstanding performance.

Well you left me hanging!!
As Ms Carr, is one of my very favorite authors,
I am now waiting for a sequel to "What We Find"!!! Where are Cal and Maggie going?
Hope it's soon because there is nothing more Robyn Carr for me to read....I've read it all!
I enjoy your writing, the characters, the emotions, and the constant of family, companionship, friendship, and love
at the heart of your novels.
And Therese Plummer brings your books to life like no other narrator!
You two make a wonderful team!
Thank you for the hours of entertainment and relaxation....
Sandy

Overall, Enjoyable Read
Any additional comments?
I am a fan of Robyn Carr and, overall, I enjoyed this book. I have two main complaints. One, mud season in the Colorado Rockies does not begin in early March. It drove me crazy how off the weather was portrayed. I also found the ending so abrupt that I went back and listened to the final chapter before the epilogue to see if I had missed something. Nope.

A bit too dark for me
I love Robyn Carr, but I found this book too full of suffering. It may be perhaps that I am feeling a bit down about life in general right now, but I need to have a story that is not quite so sad.

4 What We Find Stars
Soooo I am a huge Robyn Carr fan and I really enjoyed this book. I can’t say it’s my favorite but I will say it grabbed my attention from the beginning right to the end.
I found Maggie to be interesting but a little lost. And I really liked her dad and step dad. I think I just wanted her to make up her mind already instead of being in this limbo kind of place and that part for me dragged on just a little to long.
I will say Cal really had my drooling. I loved that he was a little mysterious and that he didn’t come out with his story right away made me like him all the more.
When these two find their way to each other is natural that it would happen that way and I really liked that. I think that is what I like best about Robyn’s work is that it flows so well and makes you root for the couple every single time not matter what.
Again I am a fan of the narration as always Therese does a fantastic job!
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Storyline was interesting but...
Wasn’t happy that there was bad language and too much sexual details. Less is more in my opinion. I’ve listened to this author before and didn’t remember her books being like that.

Okay, but Long and Sometimes Disjointed
This was my first experience with Robyn Carr, and I thought everything was around average from characters, to writing, to story. Nothing was glaringly wrong for me, but nothing was overly appealing either, including the main characters and their romance. I found a lot of the book a bit dull, and it probably could have been shortened by a few hours. There were some more action-oriented moments, but they felt incongruent to the rest of the book, and it was like the author was trying to prove something about Maggie a little too overzealously.
Therese Plummer was fine, and I don't have any complaints of her narration.
I recommend this to fans of the author or people who get the book with a deal and can listen at a faster narration speed. Otherwise, pass it up for something that's better than average.
