That stammer. Those basset-hound eyes. That bone-dry wit. There has never been another comedian like Bob Newhart. In this, his first audiobook ever, Newhart gives his brilliant and bemused twist on a multitude of topics, including flying, the trials of a family holiday in a Winnebago, and more serious subjects, such as golf. And, of course, there are side-splittingly funny stories from his life and career. Who else has a drinking game named after him? ("Hi, Bob!")

In 1986, Paul Newman and his closest friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern, began an extraordinary project. Stuart was to compile an oral history, to have Newman’s family and friends and those who worked closely with him, talk about the actor’s life. And then Newman would work with Stewart and give his side of the story. The only stipulation was that anyone who spoke on the record had to be completely honest. The result is The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man—revelatory and introspective, personal and analytical, loving and tender in places, always complex and profound.

The New York Times best-selling biography of an American comedy legend. After three years of sobriety, Chris Farley's life was at its creative peak until a string of professional disappointments chased him back to drugs and alcohol. He fought hard against them, but it was a fight he would lose in December 1997. Farley's fans immediately drew parallels between his death and that of his idol, John Belushi. Without looking deeper, however, many failed to see that Farley was much more than just another Hollywood drug overdose. In this officially authorized oral history, Farley's friends and family remember his work and life.

Publisher's Summary
Six-time Emmy Award-winning funnyman Tim Conway, best known for his characters on The Carol Burnett Show, offers a straight-shooting and hilarious memoir about his life on stage and off as an actor and comedian. In television history, few entertainers have captured as many hearts and made as many people laugh as Tim Conway.
There's nothing in the world that Tim Conway would rather do than entertain - and in his first-ever memoir, What's So Funny?, that's exactly what he does. From his pranks in small Ohio classrooms to his performances on national television and movies, Tim has been cracking people up for more than seventy years. Long regarded as one of the funniest comedians around, Tim also boasts an inspiring rags-to-riches story.
What's So Funny? captures Tim's journey from life as an only child raised by loving but outrageous parents in small-town Ohio during the Great Depression, to his tour of duty in the Army - which would become training for his later role in McHale's Navy - to his ascent as a national star and household name. By tracing his early path, this audiobook reveals the origins of many of Tim's unforgettable characters - from Mr. Tudball and the Oldest Man to Mickey Hart to everyone's favorite, Dorf.
What's So Funny? shares the hilarious accounts of the glory days of The Carol Burnett Show and his famous partnerships with entertainment greats like Harvey Korman, Don Knotts, Dick Van Dyke, Betty White, Vicki Lawrence, Bob Newhart, and of course, Carol Burnett. As a bonus, listeners will enjoy never-before-shared stories of hilarious behind-the-scenes antics on McHale's Navy and The Carol Burnett Show.

“Tommy”Conway A most genuine human being turned funny man
A great listen, start to finish. Tim Conway was as many know a very fun and fun loving man. Ensign Charles Parker(McHales Navy), the Carol Burnett Show and perhaps best of all that evening in the majestic Orpheus Theatre in Vancouver British Columbia Canada Conway and his life long buddy and himself a funny man Harvey Korman in concert. The duo performed all the skits and then some and lest I forget an emphatic YES Conway with great ease broke Korman into laughter during the show. Thanks for the laughs and great memories “Tommy”Conway, and special thanks to his creators “Sophia” and “Dan” Conway.

Not narrated by Tim
Any additional comments?
When I bought this, I thought Tim narrated it himself as he is first listed. He didn't. Dick Hill did. While Mr. Hill may be a good narrator, I did not find him to be good for this book. The majority of celebrity bio's I have listened to have been narrated by the celebrity (Kevin Pollack being the best I have found thus far) so it was a natural mistake on my part when I saw Tim listed first. However, I do not regret buying it or listening to it - I just think it would have been fantastic if Mr. Conway had done it himself.

Most enjoyable book I've listen to in years.
Would you consider the audio edition of What's So Funny? to be better than the print version?
Did not read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
The honesty and truth of it, and that it is possible to write a book without offensive language.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
It's like sitting across from him in a coffee shop having a conversation.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me happy to hear about a wonderful person talking about his life without any regrets or bitterness. I laughed so hard, I had to listen to some of the funny parts two or three times.
Any additional comments?
One book you can listen to with your youngest children or grand kids. It will show them that a person can talk to 8 hour without using one four-letter word.

Love Dick Hill, but he ain't Tim Conway!
Would you recommend What's So Funny? to your friends? Why or why not?
NO. Good story - how could it not be? But Tim needed to read it himself. Dick Hill is a master of thriller and adventure books. He just isn't a comedy guy.
Any additional comments?
My mistake on the purchase. Luckily, it was cheap. Wouldn't have bought if I'd have known Tim wasn't reading.

Funny Man...
Where does What's So Funny? rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
A fantastic in between book for some of the heavy history stuff I've been reading...
What was one of the most memorable moments of What's So Funny??
Too many to mention
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
I loved that Tim, himself narrated the book...I don't think it would have been anything had someone else done it...
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh out loud...
Any additional comments?
I was listening while donating platelets at the Red Cross so I had needles in both arms and my ear buds in...you are not allowed to move your arms while donating so laughing while being relaxed and pumping with one hand was quite the trick plus it made others laugh at me because they had no idea why I was laughing. I guess you had to be there...

Tim Conway goes through his life and invites us along for the story. This is not a stiff year-by-year but has a conversational tone as he reads the book. Great comedian, great actor, and a very humble man. I really enjoyed this as an audible book and would highly recommend.

Disappointed! A few seconds of Tim & then BORED!
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I can't really recommend this book for anyone. I hung in ther for three chapters and it wasn't getting any better so I stopped. So sorry, Tim!
What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?
I couldn't get over the presentation. It sounded like he was reading not speaking. Pronouncing a long 'A' in every instance of 'A' friend, 'A' boy, etc. Tough listen.

Great story, but...
What did you love best about What's So Funny??
It's written by and about one of the funniest people who ever lived.
What was one of the most memorable moments of What's So Funny??
Every chapter has at least one such moment, usually more.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He sounds like he's trying too hard to be the funny one, like a hammy Borscht Belt comic. I've liked other stuff he's narrated.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I wanted to make it last.

Love Tim Conway, not so much the book
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I have listened to worse but I only stuck with because I really like Tim Conway. It also seemed like there was not much time put into it as compared to others I have read and listened to. It seemed like a ghost writer met with Tim Conway for a few sessions and wrote the book. Maybe my expectations were too high.
If you’ve listened to books by the authors before, how does this one compare?
Not great. Tim Conway does a small forward and that is it. It might have him speaking for 10 minutes at most.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator did fine but I thought Tim Conway was doing it.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No
Any additional comments?
I think that the description should list how much each person is narrating the book.

Narration KILLED this book
Tim Conway is one of the funniest people alive. Just watch a few YouTube clips from the Carol Burnett show. Tim should have read this book himself. Or someone with comedic timing and dry wit. Scott Brick is a good narrator, but terribly miscast in this role. He apples a heavy hand to relating the comedic experiences, leeching all the humor out; I kept trying to imagine Tim's voice, but it became too frustrating. Don't think I can finish.
