About The Author

Pieter Elsen, author of When Souls Awaken – Real-life accounts of past-life and life-between-lives Regressions, was born in Holland and has lived in five different countries and on three different continents. Born and educated in The Netherlands, Pieter studied five years at the renowned Design Academy in Eindhoven, specializing in Industrial Design. Though he graduated with honors, Pieter felt there was more to life and set out on a 20-year journey of Self Discovery that brought him to France, India, England and finally the United States. Pieter was a Vedic monk for 21 years, of which 11 were spent in India. While there he studied extensively the deep and spiritual philosophy of the East. He uses this experience and knowledge as a therapist and life coach counselor integrating the Western and Eastern schools of thought. He is licensed by the Michael Newton Institute of Life between Lives Regression.

After coming to the United States he channeled his experience as a gifted motivational speaker and background in philosophy and international cultural diversity into the field of Clinical Hypnotherapy. In 2014, Pieter attained his Ph.D. specializing in Transpersonal and Spiritual Counseling. Pieter’s current focus is on past-life and life-between-lives regression sessions and writes and speaks on this topic, in his blog, and on various shows.

One of my favorite books!

This book is extremely enlightening. The book is similar to Michael Newton’s book “journey of souls”. I’m always intrigued by past life regression and life between lives. It’s definitely worth reading.

Ruined by the narration

I can barely get through this book. This is one to get on paper instead. The female narrator completely ruined it for me with her overacting whiny responses to the therapist's questions. absolutely awful! Her acting out of ecstasy sounds like a child crying after being denied a treat....ugh! Just trivializes the most profound element of human existence.

Too much of author' personal beliefs

I prefer a more objective approach to this subject. The personal beliefs of this author comes through too heavily in the questions and narrative. I preferred Wisdom of Souls as a follow up to Michael Newton's books. I was intrigued that this author was from the Netherlands because i wondered if that would impact the readings but seems all his clients went to his Southern California practice so were mostly Americans. I found the author to impart a lot of his own personal philosophy and beliefs into how to become spiritually advanced which were based on his religious studies in the eastern religions. I would have preferred more focus on the sessions than his own musings.
