Publisher's Summary
A murder investigation unearths the brutal history of a village where innocence has a shifting meaning if you are alive. Or dead. When psychotherapist Alexis Cosse is found murdered in the playground of the sleepy northern village of Burrowhead, the local police force of Georgie, Trish and Simon investigate. Leads take them from Alexis' recent clients to local bullies, exposing a maelstrom of racism, misogyny, abuse and homophobia that has been simmering beneath the surface of the village. Shaken by the revelations, and beginning to doubt her relationship with her husband, Fergus, Georgie starts to realise something bad is lurking under the soil in Burrowhead, while someone (or something) equally threatening is hiding in the strange and haunted cave beneath the cliffs.

interesting mystery
I listened to this one, but I'm going to have to listen to it again, because it has a lot going on and I was multi-tasking and I definitely missed stuff.
That said, despite my occasional mind wanderings, it was a very engaging book, with a tightly plotted mystery and solid, well-rounded characters. The setting was very vivid, too, I could really visualize the slightly depressing, economically depressed small seaside town.
I liked it, and will give it a second listen next month
