Publisher's Summary

Two sisters. One enchanted forest. And a hidden destiny that could doom them both....

I didn’t want to come live in the castle beside the Darkwood, and I especially didn’t want to become enemies with my stepsister Neeve. But how could I help it? She has magic, while I’m an ordinary girl. She’s the heir to the throne, while I’m an annoying afterthought since my mother married the king. And Neeve has the ability to master her emotions while I’m a re-haired disaster.

She also has Thorne, the handsome guardian of the forest who tutors her in the powers that are her heritage. Even though I know he could never be mine, I can’t keep my heart from dreaming of the impossible.

But everything changes the day I uncover the secrets the castle has been hiding....

Interesting but slow

I didn’t realize the book was going to be this slow, it’s starts with Rose as what 13 or 14 years old, and her beautiful mother married a king in a small country and he has a daughter almost the same age.

Her step sister is very cold & we find out 1/2 dark fae, her mother died in childbirth. Our girl seems to have an infinity to fire & her mother never told her who her father is.

I’m guessing he’s one of these red priests who have fire magic & like to kill anyone with magical powers, probably the reason why they left her hometown.

The girls get alone well enough. Our girl followed her step sister into the dark woods on day 1 and has learned lots. The keeper of the woods is a dark fae that both girls have a crush on.

When they are 15 a prince comes to live with them, her step sister is probably supposed to marry.

Each time Rose has a birthday she gets sick her 16th birthday almost killed her. Her mom & the princes with a few helpers went back to her hometown to get help just as she started to get better. But then the red priests found them & there was a fight before they got away

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
