Publisher's Summary

Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band. The shows were incredible, but the offstage antics might have been even more entertaining. Cooper generously shares you-had-to-be-there tales of the band’s early days in Hollywood and mythic all-nighters with rock’s premier luminaries. Also included are new recordings of the hits “I'm Eighteen”, “School’s Out”, and “Poison". Not many artists can claim credit for creating an entire style or genre. Don’t miss the chance to hear a consummate showman reveal that storytelling might be his greatest talent of all.

Alice for EVER!

Alice has always been one of my all-time favourite artists. My very first concert was in fact Alice Cooper Feed My Frankenstein, probably one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This book was also amazing.

Interesting

Glad I listened. Loved his music back in the 70’s. And still enjoy listening to it occasionally now.

I love these Words + Music Audible has available.

Anyone who knows me knows I love me some Alice Cooper.
Listening to fun stories from the road and his life changes later on was a great distraction while doing paperwork today.

Alice Cooper ROCKS!!!

I grow up listening to Alice Cooper's songs. They molded my life in a wonderful way, as did several other bands too. Now at 67, I still sing "Schools outs" every June to my friends, kids and grandkids!!!

To learn who the real Alice Cooper is in this audiobook, especially narrated by Alice himself, makes it a masterpiece.

Thanks so much, Alice!!!

Great Info On Alice Cooper

If you've ever wondered how Alice Cooper came to be as successful as he was, this is the book. Narrated by Cooper himself, you get the full meaning of the story with his expression and the way he says things.
I love the songs he sings throughout the story. I wish they were available to purchase.
All in all, a great book for any music fan.

VH1 to books

It was really cool to hear Alice narrate his life story but the book seemed too short to fit a career that has spanded several decades! Just seemed in some ways the VH1 behind the music hour long show fitted into a book.

Is It My Body of Work

I've been an Alice Cooper fan for 35 years. His tales never cease to render one spell bound. Only wish there was more

Excellent

The only complaint I have is I wish it was as longer. I wonder if there will be an album released of the acoustic tracks performed on this?
