Publisher's Summary

Why should we meditate? How can crystals heal the mind and body? Why is visualization so powerful - and so effective? Discover the scientific evidence to answer these questions and more....

David Hamilton, PhD, has been studying the mind-body connection and the power of thought for years, finding compelling evidence of why and how alternative therapies can and do work. In his trademark warm and conversational tone, he explains the science and spirituality behind some of today's most popular alternative practices. He explores four key aspects of healing:

  • Physical: the mind-body connection and how belief affects the body
  • Emotional: how emotions are stored in your body and the link between suppressed emotions and disease
  • Energetic: how reiki and crystals can be used to heal
  • Consciousness: prayer, distant healing, and modern scientific and philosophical ideas surrounding consciousness

Why Woo-Woo Works proves why we shouldn't discount alternative therapies and healing modalities and reveals the answers that you have been looking for!

"Dr. David Hamilton is one of the leading pioneers in the field of the mind-body connection." (Dr Joe Dispenza)

Unexpected

I’ve read books using science to explore the validity of esoteric and spiritual practices but they have always been to vague and leading to the reader. What I enjoyed about Hamilton’s book is that he used his own credentials and experience to invite readers to entertain a new possibility. He did not try and convince but he did do a wonderful job narrating his personal experiences and his professional research. Overall a highly engaging and informative book for skeptics and long term lovers of woo woo!

MUST HAVE

Not even done the book yet. I have about 2.5 hours left and I had to rate this book now.
This book was so well done. So amazingly said and narrated. My goodness. I don’t even think I have words.
I love that it helps fuel your LOA / manifestation but because of facts. It’s quite amazing.
All other self help type books don’t have any science base. This one does and it’s sooooo good.

I’m also a health care worker. This book really hit home for me when it was talking about empathy and healing.

Thank you for writing this book. Thank you for reading this book. This is not a “one and done” book. I’ll be listening to it over and over again. I love it that much.
