Publisher's Summary
Thistle Winchester is at her witchy wit's end.
Great-Aunt Tillie is selling wine at the curb of The Overlook - like it's a lemonade stand - and her mother and aunts are about to burn someone at the stake. Unfortunately, it's up to her and cousin Bay to put out the fire.
When the two cousins take a stand, they're interrupted by the arrival of an injured and dazed little girl. She won't speak, and she appears to have undergone some sort of trauma.
Thistle steps up to the plate - mostly because the child seems to have latched herself onto the grumpy witch - and the Winchesters launch an all-out investigation into who she is, and where she came from.
As things start to unfold, Thistle's heart is at risk. This newest guest at The Overlook has a troubled past, and she's especially vulnerable, which makes Thistle especially vulnerable.
It doesn't help that that Aunt Tillie has taken a special interest in the child she deems "Basil", or that Landon wants to arrest Aunt Tillie for her secondary wine business.
Can the Winchesters save the day? Thistle is determined to do just that. She just might need a little help from her family.

OMG
Just ran across these delightful short stories of the Winchester clan and can't wait to here more, EXCEPT... The narrator is AWFUL! She seems to read at a speed that rivals an auctioneer without any inflection or change in voice for the characters. I have never heard a more disturbing narrator. I dearly hope our author isn't locked into a contact of any kind with her because it detracts from the clever fun of the book. PLEASE....GET RID OF THIS NARRATOR!

Narrator is awful
Narrator has no concept of punctuation, running sentences together and reading straight through where it makes no sense unless you’re following along in the book. Reading way too fast as well. First book I’ve had to adjust speed on. Overall narrator does no justice to the book. Highly recommend reading this one and not buying the audiobook.

A wonderful book read at break-neck speed!
This is a fun little short that is an off shoot to Amanda M. Lee’s “Wicked Witches of the Midwest”. I have been wondering about Annie’s origin story for awhile, and had to hunt for this book on Audible because it isn’t listed with the rest of the series.
I really enjoyed this book and listened to it in one evening. I was not overly impressed with the narrator. I don’t know if she normally talks that fast, or if they sped up her reading during editing, but oh, my goddess was it fast! It sounded like an average Jane was just reading to me. There was differentiating between the characters, her voice remained the same all the way through. There were also several instances where lines were repeated.

love these books, can't wait for the next one
Each book could stand alone but each book is such an Integral part of the series, it's like you're a guest at their table every night. You can't wait to visit again and see what they're into next.
