Publisher's Summary

A witch is a wise woman, a healer. Yet for so long the word witch has had negative connotations. In this book, third generation hereditary witch Lisa Lister explains the history behind witchcraft, why identifying as a healer in past centuries led women to be burned at the stake, and why the witch is reawakening in women across the world today. This book provides an overview of the different schools of witchcraft and the core principles and practices within them. Discover ancient wisdom made relevant for modern witches:

  • The wheel of the year, the sabbats, the cycles of the moon
  • Tools to enhance your intuition, including oracle cards and dowsing, so that you can make decisions quickly and comfortably
  • Understanding the ancient use of the word medicine
  • How to work with herbs, crystals and power animals so that you have support in your spiritual work
  • Work with the elements to achieve deep connection with the world around you

In addition, Lisa teaches personal, hands-on rituals and spells from her family lineage of gypsy witch magic to help you heal, manifest, and rediscover your powers.

Was not intersectional in an arrogant way. Couldn’t finish it.

I’m not sure if this was a cosmo magazine or a spirituality book. I’m all for being connected to mind body and spirit, but this book really emphasis on the “pussy”, and seemed to rephrase the same vagina glorification in an annoying way, to the point where I couldn’t listen without rolling my eyes. I gave it a genuine shot but the title and category is misleading. This is more of a white feminist book. I am a cis women with vulva cancer and my spirituality is inclusive to all bodies of feminine forces regardless of the physical gender binaries. I am understanding that people can enjoy this book but for anyone who has similar views, this is my opinion.

Great Listen!

Purchased the physical book about 1/2 way through as there are a lot of good takeaways, recipes and rituals I want to reference.

full of assumptions

I couldn't finish. Author assumes too much. And is too focused on the patriarchy. Perhaps if you're an absolute beginner this could be of service, but if you have already embarked on your journey of personal empowerment and joy, this book is NOT for you.

Amazing Book!

This book took me through the ways that being a woman has felt, and how to be a better, stronger woman in myself.
It’s uncomfortable, and she uses language to make the listener/reader feel uncomfortable. But it’s all to make us realize that it SHOULDN’T be uncomfortable to be a woman, and to be a witch in her power.

I thank her for her bravery in sharing and writing this book.
10/10 a must read for any witch!

Inspiring af

Perfect for the modern day witch and those who are looking to explore what it is to be a witch in the 21st. I'll be buying the physical book soon as there are some recipes I want to have for myself. Great job and I highly recommend this book.

Radically validating, beautifully informative

If you are looking to stay small, this is not for you. If you'd like a heavy dose of power, and introduction to true womxnhood prepare to be delighted, and changed forever. I was.

Probably better to get physical book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would. The information is good and inspiring.

What did you like best about this story?

The historical perspective and the modern day practicality

What about Lisa Lister’s performance did you like?

I liked her accent and passion

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

I wish this book came with a PDF to download the list of herbs and crystals and their properties. It would also be nice to have access to the tea recipes, etc. It's going to be hard to track back through and find those reference items. The author should offer something on her website for audible book purchasers.

"Do NOT buy, written by a TERF"

I couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes of this thing. Absolutely nauseating. Being a witch isn’t just for women (yes, she says that). And not all women have vaginas! I’ve noticed that neo-paganism has brought a lot of comfort to the LGBTQIA+ community. I do believe that there is massive power in fertility and sex magick but to exclude a whole community of people from something that is based around inclusivity is disgusting.

Fucking fantastic

This book was both accessible and deep. I cannot recommend it highly enough to any woman who wants to stand in her power and claim her womb given fierceness and magic.

DNF

DNF. Perhaps there's more to this book after that first couple of pages, but I decided to walk away from the all-up-in-your-face approach of telling me I'm not empowered. Moreover, I can't relate to the notion that my power emanates from my vagina.

I was hoping for a book that celebrated women and provided insights into their connection with the earth, its rhythms, its wisdom, and its elements. What I read of this one, though, made me feel bad for not walking crotch first everywhere in a pair of combat boots.

Obnoxious and egotistical.

I just listened to a 7 hour, self congratulatory auto bio. The passage, " We ate super healthy food and drank from eco friendly straws at a Cafe in Los Angeles." Face numbing.

Self oppressed for the sake of saying she has overcome adversity. The overuse of the word "pussy" is cringeworthy. But nothing more outrageous as being a self professed shaman.

Lisa lister wants you to know how great she is.

An educational and enlightening Audiobook

I’m so glad I made the decision to listen to this Audiobook. Lister does a fantastic job of conveying the spirit and will that is the foundation of her book and message. It’s filled with experience, guides, tools, examples and shared stories. I also downloaded the text to keep as a reference. Fantastic!

Reclaiming witch

This isn't a silly Halloween story. It's an EPIC book about reclaiming the title WITCH! Lisa takes you on a journey from power to silence to remembering your intuition and reclaiming your feminine power. I love this book and find it's teachings so useful I plan to purchase a physical copy also

Waste of your money. Trite, preachy, terfy, and somewhat narcissistic. I couldn't even get past the first couple chapters.

CW: discussion of transphobia
