Publisher's Summary

Her proposition...

London Society is harsh for a young woman with no family connections who has to work for a living. But when Daisy Merrick is sacked from yet another job, the feisty and outspoken miss comes up with a plan that could give her a future beyond her wildest dreams. There's only one problem. Her success depends on a man, the most infuriating, impossible, immovable man she's ever met.

His resolution...

Sebastian Grant, Earl of Avermore, is England's most infamous author. Known for his notorious reputation, he is more interested in play than work, and has no intention of cooperating when Daisy shows up on his doorstep with a mad plan. The provoking, fire-haired beauty stirs his senses beyond belief, and Sebastian knows he has only one way to stop her. Seduction.

No build up

I love Guhrke novels, but this one was less than enjoyable. Overall there was the potential to have a great love story, but the build up just wasn’t there and the ending was pretty sudden. When the love confession scene took place, it was surprising because up until that moment one of the main characters was adamant that true love was completely fake which resulted in a feeling of an insincere happy ending. It also felt like the amorous scenes were less than engaging for both participants. One person was seriously trying to be professional or that stuff was happening that they didn’t want while the other was pretty forceful and ignored multiple protests by the other person, even citing in their head that they just wanted more. It just felt like the first multiple physical encounters were bordering on assault.
