Publisher's Summary

The year is 2245, and the world has undergone explosive growth in multiple industries. The age of Virtual Reality came long ago, opening up new fields for people to enjoy and seek employment. There were even those that chose to sacrifice their physical bodies, becoming digital existences that lived within Internet communities.

But with the age of VR, everyone still dreamed of that next step, the next level of adventure. And after 100 years, it has finally arrived. The first consoles, known as Seeds, are mass distributed among the people, with such realism that they no longer qualified as a Virtual Reality, but as an Artificial Reality. But what happens when things become too real?

well written and quite unique for the genre

as far as audible free book series go this is honestly as good as it gets. it's well produced, narration is solid and the story has some solid unique elements to it.

I think it's well worth a listen

The planet hopping kind of threw me

Good character build .I do like the plant aspects and the druid characters . I am not sure whether i will continue this series I will give it a few days to settle into my psyche. I do find interest in his companions . Very nice set up

Enjoyable

There was no real direction for a long time. Just a guys development which was really interesting and fun to witness. Not too any parts that really get your blood pumping. Lots of light humor to make you chuckle. The characters are likable but not super deep.
While it does seem laking in some ways its certainly worth a listen.

Outlandish, but fun to listen to

This novel is quite fun to partake in. But as the title suggests, the plot is a bit outlandish. There are numerous plot holes and things that just plainly make no sense. But, overall I would still give it a pass. There is always that saying "it's not what you do, but how you do it". This novel is like that. Even though you know it makes no sense, you can't help liking it.
The MC is fun to listen to, has decent adventures, and has his brain plugged in right (when he isn't making non-obvious slip ups of course).
The world is sufficiently described, can be visualized, and seems to have a lot of work put into it.
Overall, I'd give the story a 4/5.
What I have beef with though, is the narrator. I don't know if it's his voice, his performance, or a combination of both. He sounds like either he is rushing, nasal, or panicky. But then again, maybe it's just his voice. I listened to another one of his novels (TGF) yesterday, and his performance also ruined it for me. I dunno, maybe it's just me. So I guess I'd give him 3/5, I can't in good conscience give him more than that.
All that said, I would definitely recommend this novel. It has too many merits to ignore listening to it 👍.

Slow and Dull

This has to be one of the slowest and dull stories I have heard in a long time.
The starting training was blah, no fun interactions with the "god" followed by a dry grind of a starting village.

skip.
