Publisher's Summary

Though the young Warchief Thrall ended the demon curse that had plagued his people for generations, the orcs still wrestle with the sins of their bloody past. As the rampaging Horde, they waged a number of devastating wars against their perennial enemy - the Alliance. Yet the rage and bloodlust that drove the orcs to destroy everything in their path nearly consumed them as well. Long ago, on the idyllic world of Draenor, the noble orc clans lived in relative peace with their enigmatic neighbors, the draenei.

But the nefarious agents of the Burning Legion had other plans for both of the unsuspecting races. The demon-lord Kil’jaeden set in motion a dark chain of events that would succeed not only in eradicating the draenei, but would forge the orc clans into an single, unstoppable juggernaut of hatred and destruction. An original tale of magic, warfare, and heroism based on the best-selling, award-winning electronic game series from Blizzard.

Good book

Although she is the author, I’m not as crazy about her performance. Would have preferred Scott Brick. Still overall it was a decent performance and a good book.

Rise Of The Horde review

Christie golden writes wonderful books but she does not narrate them the best she did and all right job but they're better narrators for the World of Warcraft books

Not true to the Warcraft Lore

The story was very dry and hard to listen to. This did not follow the lore set in the original Warcraft games.

Simple input

Christie’s voice was monotone and hard to follow, it was hard to separate the characters. The story itself was very good, helps me understand the game I play a little better.

Needed a Different Narrator

Great story, but I had difficulty enjoying the book with the voice acting. I admire Christie Golden, but I didn't enjoy her voicing 90% male orc characters. Made it a very difficult and disappointing listen for me.
