Publisher's Summary

Alan Russell thought about his family night and day. They didn’t just mean the world to him, they were his world. As a devoted husband and father, his sole purpose was to love, support, and protect them. Yet Alan had gone a step further, doing everything in his power to ensure his family’s survival in what he believed would become a perilous and uncertain future.

On the day civilization changed forever, he found his efforts hadn’t been enough.

In the first four volumes of the What’s Left of My World series, we follow Lauren Russell’s soul-stirring plight as she and her loved ones endure life in a perilous post-apocalyptic landscape. Battles are fought, hard lessons are learned, and not everyone makes it out alive. Some questions are answered, but not an important one: What happened to Lauren’s father?

Alan Russell had not been seen since the day that had left the world forever distorted. Tragically separated from his family on that terrible day, he was worlds apart from them.

Will he ever make it home?

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫

Yes!!! This is exactly what I was hoping it would be! I loved getting to see what happened to Allen and I really liked all the new characters. This book left me wanting so much more of this series. I missed the original cast but I know we will get back to them eventually. Whenever Allen was in the last books as "the past" he was a little preachy and I really worried this book would be that way but it was not. Jade is now in my top favorite characters list. I love a bada$$ with a sensitive side too.

Narration was perfect as always.

*On a side note, I read reviews after I finish a book and I gotta say I'm very surprised at all the comments about this being unrealistic, I mean it is Fiction!!! If this story was written to be realistic, I think it would be categorized as Horror lol.

Will not be reading Book 6...

At the start of this book I stated that if Alan did not accomplish his goal by the end of this book that I would not continue the series, I'm 48 mins from the end and needles to say, it's not going to happen. I'm seriously fed up, my complaints started books ago but I was trying to give Mr.Rudolph a chance to redeem himself and it's just not happened. Aside from the needless filler, the series isn't going anywhere, it's crazy how little the group as a whole has accomplished and there is no set goals, no finish line, it's just filler and it's gotten old. Here's what really done it for me though, I've seriously gotten whip-lash keeping up with all the personalities that each person seems to have, each person's given personalities have changed so many times that I can't keep up with it, either per book, per conversation or per situation, there is no consistency and I can't keep up. Everything is so far-fetched and out there, it doesn't make sense and personally I've given it way more of a chance than I normally would for anyone else. I really had high hopes and I feel so deflated at this point, but yeah I'm done with the series. I'm not the best at writing reviews, but regardless I think you comprehend the points I'm trying to get across. Happy Reading everyone!!!

Worlds Apart

C. A. Rudolph, thank you for allowing us to embark on the back story of what happened to Lauren’s father during this unpredictable time. It was an emotional roller coaster in such a good way! I cannot wait to hear what happens next!! So glad you decided to write about this side of the story!!

And the story continues...

Part of the missing pieces to the other book this fills in some of the pieces & I was so excited that this book was written & there will be more to come! I really enjoyed all 4 of the previous books & this one as well. It explains the whys from questions in previous books and adds wonderful characters & stories with a twist. Keep writing these amazing stories. I can’t wait for more!!!!!!

Dad's story is way to cliche with the amnesia

Love the series this book is just a bit well no not a bit cliché with the amnesia and everything else in the story wish the Dad's story was more about the fighting to get to her and not his recovery

story seems to struggle a bit.

although I was one of those readers whom asked the question "what about allen?"
the story was choppy and seemed like it was pieced together trying hard to fill in gaps.
the Author admitted he was not going to write about Allen but was compelled by the readers.
this is how the book read, like an after thought.

although I can not imagine why the story of Allen (the unseen, but often spoke about hero of the previous stories) wouldnt be a part of the continual story escapes me. I can imagine the difficulty of interweaving this one story in and around the timeline of the previously written stories.

so the Author has decided to write the 2nd story in this saga of Allen Russell's quest to make it to his family. well I hope the Author can dedicate his full attention to the story at hand and maybe stitch it all together to coincide with the previous stories.

Grand Slam!

C.A Rudolph hit it out of the park again. I got chills knowing all the locations are in my back yard and Ill never look at the Ferry in the same eyes again.
Also blew my mind with the direction he took Allan. That was one I never thought of, bravo Mr.Rudolph..

Another great book in this series. I’m glad we got Alan’s story. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I would recommend this book and all the other books by this author.

Good follow up. I'm glad we finally connected with the father. He is on his way home which should be an interesting reunion.. Good series.
