Publisher's Summary

Husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo come up against an old enemy while searching for a treasure that has been lost for centuries in this exciting adventure in the best-selling series by the Clive Cussler, Grand Master of Adventure.

Ten years ago, a chance meeting at the Lighthouse Café in Redondo Beach led Sam Fargo and Remi Longstreet on the adventure of a lifetime, hunting the legendary riches stolen from the Persian King Croesus in 546 BC. But they weren't the only ones. Someone else is after the gold, and he's willing to kill anyone who gets in his way.

When Sam and Remi run afoul of a criminal drug-running operation, their hopes of finding the treasure are dashed. But with Sam's ingenuity and Remi's determination, they survive their confrontation with the drug runners, and manage to send one of the key players to prison. Though the cache of gold is never found, life goes on. Sam and Remi marry - and years later return to Greece to find the one treasure that got away.

Time becomes their enemy when the kingpin they helped send to prison over a decade ago is released - and he has two goals in mind. Find the legendary hoard of King Croesus, and kill Sam and Remi Fargo. The Fargos know that as long as this gold is out there, no one is safe. They return to Greece for a final showdown - and one last chance to find that elusive treasure.

Disappointing

Having read other Cussler novels I was quite disappointed with this incredibly predictable story. I had to force myself to keep listening in many parts. The narrator was ok but I’ve listened to much better. Save your money on this one.

All time favorite!!!

My all time favorite book this year, 53rd of 2020 to be exact (the only good thing that came out of the quarantine). The best prequel story ever. Do yourself a favor and download it!
Sam and Remi, out of all the fictional characters that I could choose to spend an evening, a week, or a month with, discussing your world adventures, the two of you would be it.

Favorite so far!

I’ve listened to many Cussler books on audible. Sam & Remy are two of my favorite characters. This book has been my favorite by far! Loved hearing the story of how they met. Would make an excellent movie!

Clive’s BEST Sam & Remy Fargo EVER!!!!!

There wasn’t one single sentence in this adventure I didn’t enjoy! The last several books there had been an absence of warmth, togetherness & romance between Sam & Remy but in this book all has been restored - their relationship seemed more real. I’m sorry there will be no more! I’ll certainly miss Clive - he was a giant in the adventure book world! Thank you for hours of pleasure!

ANOTHER GREAT SAM AND REMI FARGO ADVENTURE

Great story and Scott Brick is a great narrorator as usual. This book also gives you a great flashback on the early days of Sam and Remi's relationship.

Great look into the beginning of Sam and Remy

Ever wonder how Sam and Remy got started? Well this book did a great job of mixing current with a great flashback of the beginnings of Sam and Remy.

It was a very interesting listen.

Best of the Fargo’s yet!

The best of the best! Very sad but fitting that this is the last of the Fargo saga. Thank you Clive, for writing this book before your passing. Rest In Peace. You were one of the GREATS!

Wow What an Adventure!

This book is great, even with a little romance. In this book along with the regular story line we even get to hear how Sam & Remi met, and about their first date turned rescue. We even get to know a little bit different side of Mr Cussler because his books do not usually contain so much romance. Deffenately a great read.
