Publisher's Summary

A gripping Clone Wars-era adventure featuring a showdown between Grand Master Yoda and his former apprentice, the sinister Count Dooku.

The savage Clone Wars have forced the Republic to the edge of collapse. During the height of the battle, one Jedi Knight escapes the carnage to deliver a message to Yoda on Coruscant. It appears that Dooku wants peace and demands a rendezvous. Chances are slim that the treacherous Count is sincere but, with a million lives at stake, Yoda has no choice.

The meeting will take place on Vjun, a planet steeped in evil. The challenge could not be more difficult. Can Yoda win back his once promising pupil from the dark side or will Count Dooku unleash his sinister forces against his former mentor? Either way, Yoda is sure of one thing: this battle will be one of the fiercest he’ll ever face.

Yoda perfectly captured

I've always loved the Yoda of the original trilogy, that paradoxical silly green goober and profound exiled sage - and that's the Yoda you'll get here! A must for all fans of Yoda! You do get a little bit of the crazy, ketamine-fueled "prequels Yoda" towards the end, but not in a way that undermines the childlike nature of the 900 year old space frog :)

What Star Wars books should be

Here is a consistent philosophy for Jedi— and it shows clearly the conflict Yoda feels about turning monks into soldiers. It layers nicely how all the deception could happens. It shows the heart of characters the movie watchers care about and also pulls you into caring about the peripheral characters— a task many MANY Star Wars books aren’t good at… even if the main character is important in the movies.

This is up there next to the Matthew Stover adaptation of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I can’t give higher praise than that for a Star Wars book at this point in my listening journey. ♥️
