Story
Like thousands of Aboriginal children in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere in the colonized world, Xatsu'll chief Bev Sellars spent part of her childhood as a student in a church-run residential school. These institutions endeavored to "civilize" Native children through Christian teachings; forced separation from family, language, and culture; and strict discipline. In this frank and poignant memoir of her years at St. Joseph's Mission, Sellars breaks her silence about the residential school's lasting effects on her and her family and eloquently articulates her own path to healing.

So when it comes to relationships, why can't these same women figure out what makes men commit? According to Steve, it's because they're asking other women for advice when they should be going directly to the source.

Story
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

You Are the Medicine
This book was amazing! I recommend this to anyone and everyone. The teachings provided are beautiful and the history is one that all North American people who choose to reside here should be aware of. Reconciliation is a must in this country and Asha talks about this in the readings. May the truth continue to be brought to light and healings happen everyday. Aho 🙏🏼

Beautiful
I cannot praise this book enough. It speaks of the stories and energies of the moon cycle from an indigenous point of view (with many similarities to how other cultures honour and celebrate the moon). It also dives into colonialism and intergenerational trauma in a beautifully deep and real way, it really speaks to the experience of marginalized groups and is a wonderful point of view to listen to in order to build understanding and empathy. Asha Frost narrates it herself on Audible, and it felt even more moving hearing the emotion and care in her voice as she tells her story. 20/10, 100% recommend!! Beautiful book.
