Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills.

Story
Almost every religion, spiritual practice, philosophy and person grapples with fear. The most repeated phrase in the Bible is “Be not afraid.” The ancient Greeks spoke of phobos, panic and terror. It is natural to feel fear, the Stoics believed, but it cannot rule you. Courage, then, is the ability to rise above fear, to do what’s right, to do what’s needed, to do what is true. And so it rests at the heart of the works of Marcus Aurelius, Aristotle, and CS Lewis, alongside temperance, justice, and wisdom.

In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

In The Masculinity Manifesto, author and podcaster Ryan Michler focuses on how a man can wield his power and lead others well with influence, credibility, and authority. Ryan refuses to accept the gradual and intentional decay of masculinity, instead he chooses to tackle the questions others are afraid to address.

Toughness has long been held as a fundamental key to achieving peak performance. For generations, we've been taught toughness means bulldozing through—pushing to the point of breakdown—and that showing any sign of weakness is failure. This model of toughness has long been glorified and celebrated. But the truth is, it doesn't work. Steve Magness, a performance scientist who coaches Olympic athletes, now offers a new kind of toughness—real toughness—that can help anyone navigate adversity. Real toughness works with our biology and psychology; fake toughness fights against them.

Publisher's Summary
“You Owe You is full of insight and guidance for those seeking their inner selves.”—MICHAEL B. JORDAN
No matter your story or your struggle, Eric Thomas—celebrated motivational guru, educator, and problem-solver to many of the top athletes and business leaders—will “help you work harder, discover your real motivation, and crack the code of enduring success” (Ed Mylett, #1 bestselling author of The Power of One More)
If you feel like success is for others, that only certain people get to have their dreams fulfilled, Eric Thomas’s You Owe You is your wake-up call. His urgent message to stop waiting for inspiration to strike and take control of your life is one he wishes someone had given him when he was a teenager—lost, homeless, failing in school, and dealing with the challenges of being a young Black man in America.
Once he was able to break free from thinking of himself as a victim and truly understand his strengths, he switched the script. And now, with this book, Thomas reveals how you, too, can rewrite your life's script. With support, he recognized that his unique gift is being able to capture the attention of all kinds of people in all kinds of settings—boardrooms, locker rooms, churches, classrooms, even the streets—thanks to his wealth of experiences and command of language. Today, Thomas considers himself blessed to speak to an audience that is as large as it is diverse, from the rich and famous to kids struggling in school to young men in prison hoping for a new start.
Thomas’s secrets of success have already helped hundreds of thousands on their journey, but this is his first guide to show you how to start today, right now. These critical first steps include deeply understanding yourself and the world around you, finding your why, accepting that you may have to give up something good for something great, and constantly stretching toward your potential. No matter where you are on your journey toward greatness, you owe it to yourself to become fully, authentically you. And Eric Thomas’s You Owe You can help get you there.
What the critics say
“The first time I heard ET’s voice, I became an instant fan. If you’ve ever been to church and you hear the pastor speaking, and you think, Man, he must be talking to me, that’s how it is to hear ET speak. It always feels like he’s talking directly to you. He shows up 100 percent every time without asking for anything in return. And it’s not just for me. It’s for everybody. I’ve seen him give his phone number out to kids because he could tell they needed someone to talk to. He does it because it’s his calling. It’s his calling to coach us all in whatever way we need it. It’s his calling to be on our team.”—Chris Paul, from the Foreword
“Eric’s vision will transform perception about your mind and your heart. His words are a gift to people on a path of purpose. You Owe You is full of insight and guidance for those seeking their inner selves.”—Michael B. Jordan
“Eric Thomas moves, inspires, encourages, and challenges people to reach their full potential. You Owe You is flat-out brilliant, and he ain’t lied yet! We’ve got to look in the mirror and identify WHO and WHAT we see, and take full ownership regarding the WHY. Let’s make a commitment today because You Owe You.”—Deion Sanders, Coach Prime

Great delivery, empty lines
The way that man speak is great, but this book is horrible. It's just giving a few motivational headlines, never go deep in anything except the author's life growing up and a lot of black history. Those are good subjects, but not what I was expecting from this book. really disappointed .

More Business CEO Than Hip Hop Preacher
There are some excellent stories here, and many will find inspiration in Eric's struggles from poor street kid to wealthy sports guru. Still, this audiobook lacks the energy and potent sharpness of Thomas' early YouTube videos, as if he moderated his language to suit an older and more educated audience.

Not a motivational book
Based on the title you would think it was a motivational book for your self improvement, but it's just an autobiography. Compared to his speeches you can tell the author was just going through the motions reading this audio book, not much enthusiasm to it. He's phenomenal at his job, but if you want to see his skills at full display you may want to check out his other work. He just didn't seem into putting in the enthusiasm into this boom, which again is an autobiography, not a self help.

Good but not Great!
This was pretty much the autobiography of Eric Thomas. While it was nice to hear about his story from childhood to what he is today, I was left with a empty feeling like something was missing. This is not the typical get you pumped up or masterful motivational speech. It was simply an overview of ET’s life. Just know what you’re buying beforehand, that way you won’t be disappointed with this audio book.

Very little new information.
The information was rather repetitive from his earlier book “Secrets to success.” The narrating was robotic/mono tone in some parts. ET has done great work, I’m a fan, but this isn’t his best. If you follow him already, you have most likely heard what he says in this book.
Still a fan…
