Publisher's Summary

Live the life you want, not the life you settle for.

Helping people build healthy new habits that improve their lives is more important than ever. Arianna Huffington launched Thrive Global to do just that - Thrive's specific mission is to end the epidemic of stress and burnout and help individuals and companies unlock their greatest potential. Science continues to show that we don't have to sacrifice our well-being in order to succeed; in fact, it turns out that well-being is critical to peak performance. Learning to thrive means:

  • Moving from awareness to action - from knowing what to do to actually doing it
  • Embracing solutions that appeal to wisdom, wonder, intuition, and reflection, and are steeped in science
  • Taking the time to rest and recover in order to fuel and maximize productivity, both personal and professional
  • Making the mindset shifts and habit changes that supercharge performance in ways that truly matter to us

Eschewing trendy self-care fixes or the latest health fads, Your Time to Thrive is the revolutionary guide to living and working based on microsteps - tiny science-backed changes. By making them too small to fail, we can incorporate them into our daily lives right away and begin building healthier ways of living and working.

This book is a microstep bible. With chapters dedicated to sleep, nutrition, movement, focus and prioritization, communication and relationships, unplugging and recharging, creativity and inspiration, and purpose/meaning, Your Time to Thrive shares practical, usable, research-supported mini-habits that will yield huge benefits and empower people to truly thrive in all parts of their lives.

On devrait l'appliquer.

Excellent Service Journalism and Advice

A great listen! Thrive's "microsteps" mantra is similar to the Atomic Habits practice, and it's definitely a drum worth beating. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on Focus & Prioritization.

Surface level

This book hits too many areas in too little time giving you a surface level understanding at best. If that’s what you’re going for though it’s organised well.

A lot of quotes from other books

I liked the overall message of the book, by it kinda got lost in a quote or words of wisdom, followed by what book or speach it came from. if they referenced the quotes at the end of the book it would have been a much smoother read. It was choppy, and hard to keep up with the message. I would have liked just heard what was said without the constant interruptions. The woman with the accent was wonderful with pearls of wisdom. The final chapter of the book tied everything up nicely in a little now. Did get some helpful info from it, but I'll have to listen to is several times to gleen everything. Would recommend it.

Not for me

It wasn’t a bad book, just not really for me. The focus was heavy on work (I’m medically retired), children (I don’t have any) and religion (I’m atheist) so it just was not what I was looking for in self-improvement. Some of it also felt rather self-promoting for their business as well. If you want to hear the words “blessing” and “gratitude” on continuous loop, this might be for you.

Love this book!

Go Arianna Huffington and team! As Americans we’ve been taught that we have to sacrifice our health, wellbeing and relationships to succeed. It’s not true and this book shows you why based on new science and how to really have it all!

Helpful but not revolutionary

The book is good. The readers are excellent but I do have an Arianna Huffington bias as I always liked her voice. The content is helpful but I did not hear anything that was an AH moment and, if you are a regular of self help or business books, have been else where. The book however does update it for a pandemic/post pandemic world which is helpful.

Would recommend as a good reminder read on how to recenter and refocus on what is important to you. Which seems to be the books goal.

Good information but a little hard to follow

Good information on microsteps but struggled to follow changing narration, might have been easier to absorb with only one narrator
