Great new author for me!

I hesitated to buy this audiobook because I’d never heard of the author, but I’m glad I did. This story is about a woman who wakes up in an alien slave ship and is given to a gladiator type to be bred. Neither of them is thrilled about it, but the only other option is death by the shock collars they are forced to wear. Gradually, they become closer and love begins to happen. The heroine has an idea to overthrow the slavers and escape using their ship. With much planning, they succeed, but the hero is critically injured during the battle. The story moved along fast and had a good plot with memorable characters. I wasn’t sure about the narration at first, but it improved after the first chapter. It would have been better with both a male and female narrator.

Great story

This was my first book by Alana Khan and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really like her writing style as well as the pace of the book. Anya was taken from earth, along with other women, in the middle of the night. She was put in Zar’s cell, who is a half-lion gladiator, and forced to mate with him. After a mating, she would be taken to medical and checked to make sure they actually mated. They wanted Zar to impregnate her. How humiliating! Zar had a cold, unfeeling heart until he gets to know Anya. The two of them become close. In hearing Zar's back story of how he was treated and the things he was forced to do, I could not help but feel sorry for him. Anya turns out to be a VERY strong woman in spite of her circumstances, especially when she initiates the uprising.

I did not care for the narrator, Zachary Zaba, and had a hard time getting into the book because of his narration. At times the sound quality would get so low I could hardly hear him. The constant turning the sound up then back down again got to be annoying. I could hear him better when he did the female voice than when he did the male voice. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.he did the male voice. Sound

Couldn’t finish the book because I couldn’t hear Half of the words because of the low bass level.

Wow! That’s all, just wow!

I love this book! It’s exciting and captivating. I’ve already made up my mind to read all of Alana Khan’s books.
I like the sci-fi romance trope of people taken by aliens and the excitement of seeing new worlds and encountering new dangers and the wonder of getting to know and even care about alien beings. I enjoy them when they are more realistic than amusing.
This new writer is a psychologist, so she understands well the motivations of behavior.
I would definitely recommend this book. It’s worth every star!

Good book

Narration was good. It was my first time using audible. Also this was a new genre for me. I couldn't wait to get to the next book in the series.

Book is good

I bought this book on kindle and love the series! So I bought the audible too because if I like a book I usually do this. The performance is by a new guy. I hope he can read better after this criticism because he has potential. Speak louder so I do not have to turn up my volume so much it crackles or sounds bad. Please slow down so I do not need to slow it on my own. Enunciate clearly please because it is almost mumbling/stumbling words. Your voice I nice and I want you to continue.

Great book!

I loved the book! I didn’t want to stop listening. There was however a lot of white noise if you turned up the volume it was pretty distracting. But aside from that I loved it!
I recommend this book.

Zar

Great story! I was on the edge if my seat for this one and I loved all the different characters. Looking forward to more books by this author.
I loved Zchary's voice. I would have loved for this book to be more of a male and female duet but he did good voicing all the different characters.

Abduction , Slavery, Gladiators,Freedom And Love 🌸

Alana Khan weaves a truly wonderful descriptive world for the listener to fall into . The listener finds themselves believing that you are actually there in person. Vocal acting is delivered by Zachary Zaba .
Anya is abducted from earth and finds herself sharing a cell with a gladiator. Not just a gladiator but a half lion one ! What ? ! Yeah ! Leading a life of misery, Zar eats , fights and sleeps . He is dead inside. But this human , Anya, keeps knocking on his cold heart . And this dead heart starts to beat for this human ....this Anya ! But love without freedom is worth fighting for isn't it ? Anya shows what a " human female " is capable of when push comes to shove !
A spicy Paranormal Science Fiction Listen . The story was amazing and enjoyable . However the narration of the male voice was not always as strong and at times fades compared to the female character's voice in the story . Enjoyable listen.🌸
