À propos de cet audio

A New York Times Best Seller

From USA Today best-selling author Stephen Graham Jones comes a “masterpiece” (Locus Magazine) of a novel about revenge, cultural identity, and the cost of breaking from tradition. Labeled “one of 2020’s buzziest horror novels” (Entertainment Weekly), this is a remarkable horror story that “will give you nightmares - the good kind of course” (BuzzFeed).

From New York Times best-selling author Stephen Graham Jones comes a novel that is equal parts psychological horror and cutting social commentary on identity politics and the American-Indian experience. Fans of Jordan Peele and Tommy Orange will love this story as it follows the lives of four American-Indian men and their families, all haunted by a disturbing, deadly event that took place in their youth. Years later, they find themselves tracked by an entity bent on revenge, totally helpless as the culture and traditions they left behind catch up to them in a violent, vengeful way.

As a First Nations man, doesn't make my opinion better than anybody else's around here so grain of salt and all that, I look kind of high and low for native based/contemporary scary stories. What I find is 18000 "creepypasta skinwalker" stories where some stranger doesn't listen to the ndn warnings and then they get skinwalked.

Okay, yeah, if you read this already, yeah, I hear you. I know, shh. Lemme finish telling my review, eh?

It was just good to get a real life native perspective. Of you're waiting for me to talk you into reading this, I don't know, go for it.

I liked it.

I like it, good story

The Only Good Indians is a masterpiece of a story elevated to new heights by its performance. Stephen Graham Jones builds his narrative slowly, tying the supernatural to deeper interpersonal undercurrents portrayed through some truly gobsmackingly prose that is as beautiful as it is gut wrenching.

The horror strikes hard and true, capturing the emotional weight of the events it’s characters experience. The descriptions are so vivid, so lived in you cannot help but find yourself their with them, sharing in their joy, their dread, their rage and their fear as they meet their inevitable end.

Shaun Taylor-Corbett’s stellar narration takes all of this to a whole new level, to the point of being practically essential to appreciating the full experience.

The Only Good Indians will haunt you for days after in the ways true horror should. This isn’t a story to miss.

Excellent story that is not only horrifying because of the Monster\Creature. but also because of the general racism that Native Americans experience daily. this book was eye opening as well as creepy.

I really enjoyed this. There was one part that I really wasn't expecting and literally stopped walking with my dog and was like, umm, what just happened? I mean there was foreshadowing, but still. Good book would recommend, the narrator did a very good job

As a fan of horror stories, it's nice to wander into the horrors of other cultures, to be scared through other lenses, to read about things that would never occur to me as being frightful and yet being told a story that made them terrifying. Well written, fantastic climax, and def checking out more of the author's work.

Different and Deep
