  • Summary

  • The seeds of Putin's rise to power lie in a slightly unusual place: 1990s Moscow where, after 70 years of communism, "gangster capitalism" arrived.

Here we tell the story of how a young graduate student at The Institute of Controlled Sciences became one of the richest men in Russia and the Kremlin's Power Broke - Boris Berezovsky.

Bob

Very few redeeming qualities from his obvious knowledge of Eastern Europe to counter his personal biases. The reference to Baba Yaga stories to help explain the Russian underpinning of Putin’s character is ridiculous. Most of us grew up with Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, etc. Should we all then treat our adversaries with extreme cruelty? Sad.

good

This book is so awesome, I didn't want it to finish! When it ended I was left with peace and courage to keep going and a sense of being on the right track of wanting to keep going despite my own difficulties.
