  • Edward Cairney and Avril Jones (Ad-free)
    Jul 7 2025
In the late ‘90s, Margaret Fleming was living under the care of Edward Cairney and Avril Jones, friends of her deceased father. In October 2016, the police launched an investigation when concerns were raised about a benefits claim made by Avril on Margaret’s behalf. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Edward Cairney and Avril Jones. The police found no trace of Margaret and learned she hadn’t been seen or heard from in years. It took a very long time, but when police finally developed their theory, it was dastardly. • Nancy Brophy (Ad-free)
    Jun 30 2025
Nancy Brophy is a former author who wrote romantic suspense novels. She once wrote an essay on how to get away with murder. When her husband was found murdered, Nancy quickly became the prime suspect. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Nancy Brophy. Prosecutors believed she spent months plotting the murder to cash in on more than a million dollars of life insurance money. They also think she used a crime thriller-like twist to try to get away with the perfect murder. • Stephen Marshall (Ad-free)
    Jun 23 2025
In March and April 2009, a man’s dismembered remains were scattered across two counties in England. The “jigsaw man,” as the media called the victim, was identified as 49-year-old Jeffrey Howe. The main suspect was his roommate and “best friend,” Stephen Marshall. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Stephen Marshall. Jeffrey Howe thought he was helping out Stephen Marshall and his girlfriend, Sarah Bush, by allowing them both to stay in his home. But Jeffrey soon realized he had made a mistake because the pair ate up his food and contributed little. Jeffrey Howe would never get the chance to kick them out. Lacked luster and felt like a lecture

While I appreciate the research these guys put in for their stories… this podcast felt more like I was listening to a university lecture instead of a podcast.

Detailed

Mike and Gibby are so detailed in their research and storytelling. I’ve never listened to a podcast before but I was looking for some true crime (books) to read or listen to and came across them. They go through a new case each week and it’s perfect for true crime junkies! I think they started in 2016 so there’s a lot to catch up on if you’re just getting started, which is great if you want your true crime fix everyday.

Wayne's World

whenever I hear the intro with me is always is; I just assume you're going to say I'm Wayne Campbell hosting this from my basement in Aurora and with me is always is Garth...hahah,, I'm picturing Mike with tight torn jeans in his basement as the host and then Gibby with a set of drumsticks and a blonde wig....

I can't stand true crime podcasts that are

I can't stand podcasts that are in a way not scripted or researched properly. Candace DeLong has the best podcast and Serial Killers on Spotify. No offense but the random conversation feel of your episodes are boring.

Too slow with personal and irrelevant info

Too slow at telling what happened.
Too opinionated instead of just factual.
Repetitive and too much irrelevant chatter.
