Autumn, 1989. The waning days of the Cold War. A rogue Stasi colonel has acquired a nuclear bomb and threatens to level Berlin if and when the Wall comes down. CIA Agent Nick Harper is called in to foil the plot. Soon after arriving, however, Harper discovers his identity has been compromised. To stay alive, he must go along with a group of passionate young East Berliners who mistake him for their idol, American superstar David Hasselhoff.  

Curtis J. Austin chronicles how violence brought about the founding of the Black Panther Party in 1966 by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, dominated its policies, and finally destroyed the party as one member after another - Eldridge Cleaver, Fred Hampton, Alex Rackley - left the party, was killed, or was imprisoned.

The audiobook argues that the border with Mexico should be completely open for Mexicans wishing to travel north. Up Against the Wall provides the background to understanding how the border has become a fraud, resulting in nothing more than the criminalization of Mexican and other migrants, the bloating of the mismanaged US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the deterioration of living standards along the frontier, and the enrichment of American employers.

Berlin 1989: David Hasselhoff (Erzähler) ist für seine "Looking for Freedom"-Tour in Berlin. Ebenfalls in der Stadt ist CIA-Agent Nick Harper, der David zum Verwechseln ähnlich sieht. Er soll Stasi-General Hoedel finden, bevor dieser den Mauerfall verhindern kann. Doch kurz nach dem Grenzübertritt wird Nick von Stasi-Agenten überrascht und entkommt nur, weil ihn Hasselhoff-Fan Hildy, die ihn für ihr großes Idol hält, stolz in ihrem Trabi mit nach Hause nimmt. Parallel dazu wird der echte David Hasselhoff von CIA-Agentin Greta mit Nick Harper verwechselt.
