Yuri Bezmenov (1939-January 5, 1993) was a Soviet journalist for RIA Novosti and a former KGB informant who defected to Canada in 1971. After being assigned to a station in India, Bezmenov eventually grew to love the people and the culture of India. At the same time, he began to resent the KGB-sanctioned repression of intellectuals who dissented from Moscow's policies and he decided to defect to the West. Bezmenov is best remembered for his anti-communist lectures and books published in the 1980s under the alias of Tomas David Schuman.

Herbert Louis Samuel was a British politician who was the Liberal Party leader from 1931 to 1935. He was the first practicing Jew to serve as a Cabinet minister and to become the leader of a major British political party. In January 1915, Samuel circulated a memorandum, "The Future of Palestine", to his cabinet colleagues, suggesting that Britain should conquer Palestine in order to protect the Suez Canal against foreign powers and for Palestine to become a home for the Jewish people. In this recording, Samuel discusses the necessity for a permanent Jewish state in Palestine.

David Lloyd George (Jan. 17, 1863 - March 26, 1945) was a British politician of great audacity, charm, wit, and mastery of the art of debate. A champion of liberal causes throughout his career, Lloyd George entered Parliament in 1890, and was later was appointed to the president of the Board of Trade in 1906. As Prime Minister, from 1916 to 1922, Lloyd George led Britain to victory in World War I. In this recording, Lloyd George discusses the famous People's Budget of 1909.

Frank Forrester Church III (July 25, 1924 to April 7, 1984) was an American Democrat politician and lawyer. Church served as a U.S. Senator from Idaho from 1957 to 1981, and gained national prominence as chairman of the U.S. Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, from 1975 through 1976, commonly known as the Church Committee, which conducted extensive hearings investigating extra-legal FBI and CIA intelligence-gathering and covert operations. Sir James Michael Goldsmith (February 26, 1933 - July 18, 1997) was a French-British financier, economist, and politician who was a member of the wealthy generational banking Goldsmith family. In 1994 he was elected to represent a French constituency as a Member of the European Parliament. He also founded the short-lived Referendum Party in the United Kingdom, which became an early campaigner for opposition to Britain's membership of the European Union.

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Though born with the ability to see and hear, at 19 months-old she contracted an acute illness that left her both deaf and blind. Eventually, 20-year-old Anne Sullivan, herself visually impaired, became Keller's speech instructor. It was the beginning of a 49-year-long relationship during which Sullivan evolved into Keller's governess and eventually her companion.
