Sarah Thompson, a Delta police constable, is horrified when her friend and Vancouver police detective is brazenly kidnapped by a major crime gang. Working with these detectives to free her friend and colleague, they learn of a massive shipment of drugs on its way to the container port in Delta. Two competing crime families know of this shipment, and are anxious to get their hands on some of the hundreds of millions of dollars involved.

In 1908 on the island of Crete, Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier and his team discover a small clay disc while excavating the almost four thousand year old ruins of the Phaestos Palace, an administrative centre for the Minoan Civilization. The spiral message of 242 figures stamped on both sides of the disc has remained undecipherable for over 100 years by the world's top archaeologists and cryptologists.

When Andrew Tucker discovered an unusual archaeological artifact from his great uncle’s belongings in an attic storeroom, its ability to control time sets off a series of improbable events that challenge all of his education and knowledge. These events are impossibly linked to actions four thousand years in the past, and change both his life and the time manipulation power of this unusual artifact. Andrew eventually asks for help from some quantum scientists known for their unusual problem solving.
