A Course in Miracles, also known as "the Course" or ACIM, was scribed by Dr. Helen Schucman. It is a self-study course that aims to assist listeners, readers, and students in achieving spiritual transformation. Book 1: The Text is largely theoretical, and sets forth the concepts on which the Course's thought system is based. Its ideas contain the foundation for the lessons in Book 2, the Workbook for Students.

This edition of A Course in Miracles is referred to as the "Original Edition" and is the course as it was completed in 1972; this was before there were significant edits in 1975. This edition was discovered in 1999 and was first published by Course in Miracles Society in 2006. The volumes that you will be listening to here are the Workbook and Manual for Teachers, which are the second and third volumes of the three-volume set: Text, Workbook, and Manual for Teachers.

The Workbook for Students includes 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. It is not necessary, however, to do the lessons at that tempo, and one might want to remain with a particularly appealing lesson for more than one day. The practical nature of the Workbook is underscored by the introduction to its lessons, which emphasizes experience through application rather than a prior commitment to a spiritual goal.

First and foremost, A Course in Miracles is a course, an educational program. It is designed to take its students through a process of internalizing its thought system. In this process, we learn to accept into our minds and extend to others what the course calls miracles, which heal the perception of the one receiving them.

A Course in Miracles: Supplements is part 4 of 4 (three books and one supplement) of the A Course in Miracles series. A Course in Miracles is also known as "the Course" or ACIM. The second volume, the workbook, contains 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. In each lesson (with the exception of review lessons), we take a single course idea and practice it in specified ways throughout the day. As we apply it to ourselves, to others, and to our daily situations and events, our perception shifts and we see with new eyes. We feel peace where before we felt anxiety and agitation. We ultimately learn to enfold each day in peace so that we begin the day in a state of peace.

The Manual for Teachers, while it can be studied by any student, is written to those who have completed the Text and Workbook and will now extend the Course’s thought system to others. The Manual focuses on two forms of this extension. The first form is that of the teacher of pupils, in which a more experienced student of the Course plays the role of mentor, skillfully guiding a pupil along the path of the Course.
