Keeping up with the escapades of the kids in my classroom was one thing. Avoiding the drug dealers next door was another. Then there was Harold, the guy I could neither see nor hear, the ghost who helped me survive more than one attack on my life. How did we communicate? By text, of course.

Harold is dead, shot by an unknown assailant. While staring at his lifeless body, his deceased uncle enters the room and urges Harold to follow him to a better place. Harold refuses, determined to hold onto his earthly belongings. While he investigates his own murder, he learns how to adjust to the world as a spirit, interact with the town's other ghostly inhabitants, and frighten new tenants who dare move into his house. I can never remember the details after I wake up, but I've had the same nightmare too many times throughout the years, more than I can count. Recently I asked my brothers and sisters if they ever dream about the old house. Some tell me they do--of a room that wasn't there. That settles it.
