The events that took place on September 11, 2001, were the most important of our generation. The event must not be forgotten. It should dominate debate, both public and private. We must reconfigure, adapt, refocus, reprioritize, and come together as one, with our allies, to defend our freedoms and liberties.

We all love a good mystery don’t we? I mean each and every one of us are, or will be, captivated at one time or another by a decent, scary mystery; either one of the world’s most famous or something on a much smaller scale. But, writing a book on just one of these would have been relatively easy. The challenge came from researching many of them and then condensing them down in a way that I know you, my listener, will enjoy them. And that is in short, sharp informative sections that can be read on the train, bus, queue or whilst you are waiting to pick the kids up from school.

The historical significance of children’s rhymes is often lost on most adults, let alone the children who learn them by heart almost as soon as they learn to say anything at all. For all of us, the first things we are taught, after learning how to talk, are nursery rhymes. Hence by the time we are adults, we will know the words to hundreds of them without ever being aware of their meaning or real importance. And they are important, in my view, because many of them tell the true tale of some of history’s darkest or most tragic events.

The Greatest Generation is the firsthand account of an English soldier who began his army career with the Long Range Desert Group in 1940, raided with David's Sterling's Special Air Service, volunteered for the 1st Airborne Division, and took part in their first ever jump. He then transferred to the 6th Airborne in 1943 and with them he dropped at Pegasus Bridge, battled the Bulge, jumped the Rhine, and fought through Northern Germany to meet the Russians on the Baltic Coast, where they celebrated together with vodka.

At 10 past two in the afternoon of December 5, 1945, five US Navy Avenger torpedo bombers took off from the naval air station at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Their plotted flight plan formed a simple triangle, straightforward to execute, and Lieutenant Taylor and his four trainee pilots headed out into the clear blue sky over a calm Sargasso Sea. Even though everything seemed set fair, some of the crew were showing signs of anxiety.
