C'était en 1956 sur les ondes de France III Nationale, dans "Le théâtre et l'université", une émission placée sous le haut patronage de l'Éducation nationale. On y donnait une version radiophonique du "Dom Juan" de Molière, dans une mise en scène de Jean Vilar, enregistrée en public à Chaillot. Jean Vilar interprétait Dom Juan, Daniel Sorano était Sganarelle, et Monique Chaumette, Elvire. Avec eux sur scène : Georges Wilson, Georges Riquier, Philippe Noiret et Jean Topart.

La pièce donne à suivre les deux dernières journées de la vie de Dom Juan Tenorio, libertin grand amateur de femmes.

"Les Misérables", c'est l'histoire d'un homme qui fut très malheureux. Durant toute sa vie, il tenta de soulager le malheur des autres. Il peut être donné en exemple, car ce forçat était un homme de bien. Mais tendons l'oreille et écoutons son histoire.
