A hundred years before Jade Callahan’s mission began, there was Mimmi.

Discovered in a sealed vault aboard a derelict station drifting at the edge of known space, Mimmi appears to be a child—but he is anything but. Captain Silas Callahan and his crew bring Mimmi aboard their ship, the Dauntless V, unknowingly reigniting a conflict buried for centuries. Shadows twist. Crew vanish. And a presence stirs—Unity has remembered its missing piece.

As the Dauntless begins to rewrite itself, reality fractures. Mimmi is forced to confront what he once was and what he might become. But Unity is no longer the only force watching. Something older waits in the dark, and it doesn’t want Mimmi to return. It wants him to evolve.
