Dead South

Three years after a viral outbreak turns most of the population into mindless cannibals, the world lies in ruins. Scattered survivors cling to life in isolated camps and makeshift communities. Not Jon South. After losing his wife and son, Jon wanders the rural backroads of Tennessee—alone, armed, and hellbent on revenge. Every dead monster he puts down is one more step toward peace. Until he stumbles onto a brutal attack in the woods... and realizes the real monsters may not be the ones who’ve already died.

Three years after an incurable virus spread and turned a majority of the population into mindless and cannibalistic creatures, the world is a barren place. Society is broken, and most who remain have banded together in small camps and communities. Jon South is not like most other survivors. After losing his wife and son nearly two years into the pandemic, Jon now wanders the country roads and woods of rural Tennessee, a vigilante taking his revenge out on the undead monsters that took his family from him.

A new threat is rising. Several people remain in critical condition from the battle, and Hope’s Dawn is running low on basic first-aid supplies to care for them. Following an encounter with another band of survivors out in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, Jon and the others learn of a nearby prison that may contain the key to Hope’s Dawn’s survival. But they also find out that the fight with the Vultures might have only been the beginning of a war.

Jon South knows he should be dead. Yet, somehow, he’s still breathing, suffering from the zombie bite. With the help of some unlikely new allies, Jon escapes prison, and makes his way back to Hope’s Dawn - only to find the camp smoking and burning from an apparent ambush. Fighting against time, and knowing the virus from his infected bite could take him at any moment, Jon must find his friends, before it’s too late.

In the aftermath of a dangerous rescue mission at Black Hill, Jon, Brooke, and the other survivors of Hope’s Dawn are alive but scrambling to figure out their next move. Then when Lennox denies the survivors entry to Freedom Ridge, not wanting to risk further pissing off Malcolm, the group finds themselves homeless with nowhere to go. Thus begins the search for somewhere safe amongst the zombie-infested wasteland.

After the war with Black Hill, Jon and Brooke have decided to start a new life elsewhere. They leave with Lucas in tow, out to reconnect with Enzo and his Los Muertos Motorcycle Club. But when the performance of a good deed goes south, Jon and Brooke quickly discover the dangers of the new world away from Hope’s Dawn and Freedom Ridge. A danger that lies in the city. Back in Freedom Ridge, Brooke’s past has reappeared when her presumed dead husband, Peter, shows up at the camp looking for his wife and son. And he vows to find them at all costs.

After breaking out of New Atlanta with the help of Los Muertos, Jon arrives at the bikers’ outpost camp with Lucas in tow. As he begins forging a plan to return to the dangerous camp for Brooke, he quickly learns it won’t be so easy. Enzo, the Los Muertos president, won’t help him. Not unless Jon can recruit the assistance of another crew in the area. And Enzo promises that convincing the unstable leader of that camp to help will be no simple task….

Reunited again, Jon, Brooke, and Lucas head to the Los Muertos camp, 80 miles southeast of New Atlanta. Brooke is distraught, still processing her time as a prisoner in the camp, and the reappearance of her husband. With Peter now dead, Brooke must decide whether to face her son with the news. But other decisions loom, as she and Jon have to choose whether to stay with Los Muertos under the threat of another attack from New Atlanta, or head back out on the highways to face the dangers of the world and try to find peace somewhere.

Mourning the loss of his friends, Jon must pick himself up and help Brooke get her son back. A chance encounter gives them a hint of where Peter and Lucas might head, and they find a way to get back on the highway and go after him. But many obstacles remain in the way, including the undead hordes scouring the apocalyptic wastelands. And that’s not to mention Peter himself. Jon and Brooke have let Peter off before, knowing he’s Lucas’ father. But Jon knows what he must do for him and Brooke to find peace and end this cat-and-mouse chase.
