Justice Security

Take four people that have been friends since college. Add a desire to protect others. Toss in a fun-loving look on life, and mix with a dash of a not-quite-by-the-book way of doing things, and what do you have? The partners of Justice Security. In this introductory story, the partners provide security for a society dog show with an unexpected death coming from an unknown source. They also provide security for a Heavyweight Boxing Championship that has no challenger, and they are hired to investigate the deaths of two innocent teens.

They're called the "grunts"--the uniformed officers of Justice Security. They don't have the cushy, highly publicized jobs held by the plainclothes members of the company--they're the people that appear in the background every day at banks, office buildings, and retail establishments, providing a secure environment for customers and workers. Gus Brazzle is one of those grunts....

The newest, hottest nightclub in the city has hired Justice Security to protect its patrons from danger. Each night that the club is open, it has a rotating force circulating through the paying customers, as the club manager has asked Justice Security to do. Tonight, Joey Justice and Misty Wilhite have turned up in the rotation, along with up-and-comers Brandon King and Patty Ferguson. As Joey and Misty arrive, Joey goes inside, and Misty returns to the car. While she's at the car, the club is taken over by a large force of armed men, and the exits are sealed.

In the small town of Tucker's Corner, Oregon, a bank manager is killed because he found some information about payoffs from Esteban Fernandez to a very high-level member of the United States Government. The banker had time to mail out three copies of this dangerous information before he died. He mailed a copy to himself. He mailed a copy to his ex-wife. And he mailed a copy to his old friend in the city...a man that has a security company that bears his name. The banker mailed the information to Jim Dandy Security.

After the dramatic events experienced in Jim Dandy, Patty Ferguson and Brandon King decide to take a vacation. They need a well-deserved rest before taking on the responsibilities of taking charge of the plainclothes personnel at the new second Justice Security location. They choose to return to Carson City, Nevada. 

It’s November in Chicago. Still healing from an encounter with the Corn Flakes Killer, Lieutenant Michelle “Mickey” Rooney and her partner, Sam Tanner, head out into the snowy night to investigate four seemingly unrelated drug killings. They appear to be run-of-the-mill drug deals gone bad...until witnesses at one of the crime scenes report that they saw the shooting. And they have overheard the name of the killer: Esteban Fernandez.  

Dexter Beck, his wife Megan, and Percival "King Louie" Washington are driving to a special Christmas Eve function. Louie and Dexter share with Megan a story of another Christmas Eve in the early days of Justice Security, when the fledgling company is providing security for the band Omega. Omega is in town to perform at a special Christmas Eve charity concert. Louie and Dexter are driving the drummer, Gil Mullins, to the concert, when the worst blizzard ever to hit the city forces them to abandon their car and take refuge inside St. Francis Catholic Church.
