Jon had a simple and solitary life as a dock inspector in the city of Southvale. That was until a ship with elves arrived. Unable to reach the portal that would take them back to Urth, they must sail into dangerous waters and think of a way to get back to Jon's realm in one piece. Can the crew of the Dark Heart survive a sinister plot, monsters, and a mysterious power none have seen in eons? Will their honor and values be strong enough to return home and fight the iron grip of the empire?

Jon, Lilly, and the crew of the Dark Heart return to Urth by the skin of their teeth, not sure what the future will hold for the band of pirates. With two new members of the crew, a book written in ancient dragon tongue, a primordial myth, and dangerous spies everywhere, the crew must come together to confront enemies on Urth and from the Aquris realm.
