Addict Chick: Sex, Drugs & Rock 'N' Roll is brutally honest, sexually graphic, and completely real.

At 34, Amanda Meredith had it all - a successful career, a home, a child, and everything that should have made her happy. She was also crazy in love; his name was Cage, and their love would become her first addiction - but not her last. Some would say that love destroyed her, but what she let ravage her mind, body, and soul had nothing to do with love and everything to do with a deep-seated need to destroy herself. With the prick of a needle, and a shot of methamphetamine, she lost everything - her child, her career, and Cage. Homeless and alone on the streets of Dallas, she became a statistic. A broken nobody that had hit the gutter and licked it.

Her story is not for the faint of heart. Addict Chick: Sex, Drugs & Rock 'N' Roll is her heartbreak, her sorrow, and the story of how she fought like hell to save herself, with a little help from the man above.

In this memoir, one woman proves that no matter who you are, and no matter how far you have fallen, nobody is beyond redemption.

The book was interesting, intriguing, and once I got into it it was actually hard to put down. The only real issue I had with this book is that the story is literally all over the place!! She jumps from the past, to the future, to the present, back to the past, to the present, to the past, into the future, etc. It can be a little difficult to keep up with, particularly if you're not paying full attention, are multitasking, or are listening to this book while drifting off to sleep! One other point to note is that I've read many, many non-fiction books about addiction, and this one specifically has a number of questionable and/or just outright unbelievable parts. I've also read online that this book is in fact a FICTIONAL STORY (not sure if this is true, but that would explain why certain aspects are so far out there that they're completely unrealistic!).
The narrator did an okay job, especially considering what she had to work with. LOL. I really don't understand why so many people are giving the narrator flack and criticism here....
One thing to note is the copious amounts of explicit, unnecessary sex of all types. and I say EXPLICIT because it is essentially detailed, quite frequent, involves various different men, and even solo sex (masturbation). If you're uncomfortable with even minor sexual accounts, do NOT buy this book!! I definitely think this story could've been told either without all the detailed sexual accounts, with much less details, OR just not even getting into the sex at all!! The book is supposed to be about a beautiful single mother's struggles with addiction to methamphetamine, how she eventually overcomes this powerful disease, lessons she has learned and reflections she makes about what she has been through and what she has put others around her through.....NOT a soft core porn story!!
Other than these few annoyances, the book overall was alright - I've read much worse non-fiction stories of addiction as well as much better. Since I didn't pay for this book (it was my "free credit" for signing up/joining Audible), I can't really complain, but I certainly wouldn't spend more than $10 on this one!!

Hard to put down - BUT story is all over the place
