I’m curious on how the next volume will go with the pressure of Henry’s world entering into Abbi’s life.

Still kind of enjoying this series… while also definitely struggling with it.
This book felt long, and I found myself zoning out more than once. Some scenes just dragged. And while Henri is still morally grey and manipulative (yes, we’re still deep in the age gap and grooming zone — looking at you Henri and Margo), I weirdly missed his dominant energy. There were a few glimmers of it where I thought “YES, he’s back!” — only to get soft, mushy Henri again. Sigh.
The last third picked up a bit as Henri slipped back into his possessive side (a little), and I’ll admit, the Margo scenes were spicy and fun. But seriously… are we not going to talk about how Abbi still feels like the insecure virgin FMC, even after everything? Growth, girl. Where is it?
Also — and this is a big one for me — the body references are getting out of hand. We’ve been told many times that Abbi has big boobs. Got it. Noted. And the way her mother’s weight was constantly referenced? Just unnecessary. Being awful has nothing to do with body size, and the repeated comments felt like full-on body shaming.
So yeah… still invested enough to finish the last two books, but I’m hoping we get back to the drama and tension that made the first one so addictive.
Still kind of enjoying this series… while also definitely struggling with it.
