Özlem Sensoy, PhD is Professor of Social Justice in Education, and Director of the Cassidy Centre for Educational Justice in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University on the Unceded Coast Salish Territories of Vancouver Canada. She teaches courses on social justice education, critical media literacy and popular culture, and equity studies in education. Her research has been published in journals including Daedalus, the Harvard Educational Review, Gender & Education, and Race Ethnicity and Education. She is the co-author (with Robin DiAngelo) of the award winning introductory text to social justice education, Is Everyone Really Equal? An Introduction to Key Concepts in Social Justice Education, 3e (Teachers College Press, 2026).
