At 82, Allen O’Shea set out on a path he could have never imagined earlier in his life—becoming an author. A living example of perseverance and lifelong learning, Allen O’Shea’s devotion to knowledge and innovation has defined a career spanning more than five decades. Although he has never professionally written, others have consistently recognized his work in renewable energy.
The author has explicitly introduced the concept of “tweeners” in his work. This term refers to ‘from tweens to seniors.’ For tweens, it is a wonderful fairy tale for young people from 12-17, and for adults, it shows them, especially the millions living in small rural communities all over the USA and the world for that matter, that apathy is not your friend and many of the problems rural communities have is the decline in jobs and services; henceforth, we develop an apathetic attitude. Young people can help bring about a change in attitude and make many communities successful again.
As a groundbreaking leader in sustainable energy, O’Shea has dedicated over 50 years to breaking new ground in wind and solar power. His life has been far from typical—mapping the unknown waters of renewable energy like a bold innovator, intent on developing a path where none had been before. He created a legacy from scratch with other pioneers, demonstrating that determination and belief can reshape industries and inspire generations.
But O’Shea’s story goes beyond professional accomplishments. A polio survivor from the 1950s, he withstood the odds with relentless perseverance, declining to let physical limitations define his prospects. While polio tested his body, apathy was the more distinguished battle—and one he refused to lose. His life is evidence of the power of solidity, faith, and the determined pursuit of progress.
