Dear Reader,

I’m Alan Markham. I write fun, exciting stories about heroes and villains.

Spy Sisters started out as stories I told my kids. Being a dad is so awesome! I was also a teacher. Lots of my students said reading is boring. So, I tried to write a book that’s not boring. Spies aren’t boring. Flying carpets aren’t boring. Explosions aren’t boring. Discovering new things isn’t boring. BOOM! We got Spy Sisters.

I wrote the kind of book I like to read. But I didn’t always like to read. In school I was always in the lowest reading group. Then I started reading books I liked. Now, I like to read so much I became a school librarian.

I wanted to write a book about heroes because every person is the hero of their own story. That’s what Spy Sisters is about - three siblings doing the best they can in hard situations. But they still manage to save the world - and have fun along the way.
