Hi, I’m Amanda Andrews-Felkner, a passionate advocate for bringing underrepresented topics and voices into children’s literature. As an educator, child advocate, and lifelong learner, I’ve spent years working with children and families, helping them grow academically, emotionally, and occasionally, just keeping it together through chaotic moments. My experiences with diverse populations and my own journey have inspired me to create stories that reflect the beautiful complexity of the world around us. I believe every child deserves to see themselves represented in the books they read while also learning about people and experiences that expand their horizons. My debut children’s book, Eleanor and Kerwin's Big Idea, introduces young readers to the importance of understanding and setting boundaries in a fun and engaging way. The story also weaves in themes of creativity and collaboration because teamwork makes the dream work! When I’m not working or writing, you’ll probably find me traveling, crafting, enjoying nature with my husband, or playing with my two big dogs, Copper and Blue, who think they’re the main characters of every adventure.
