Dr. Anke Elisabeth Ballmann is an educator, psychologist, trauma therapist (NET), and is regarded as a visionary in education with heart. She has been committed to child-centered learning and non-violent pedagogy for three decades. She is the founder and director of LERNMEER – Institute for Child-Centered Education, a lecturer at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Nuremberg, and the initiator of the Foundation for Non-Violent Childhood. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in more than 1,000 childcare centers and spent over 45,000 hours in consultations, training, and further education with educators, parents, and children. Her dedication goes far beyond the well-being and rights of children. With great passion, determination, and courage, she takes a stand when it comes to ensuring that children have positive learning experiences in their earliest years, knowing that these experiences will shape them into adulthood. With tremendous enthusiasm, she advocates for approaches and projects that consistently place the joy and delight of learning at the center—for all age groups. Her moving lectures on her core topics have earned her the reputation of being a warm-hearted and innovative education expert. She sees in every adult the eager, playful inner child waiting to rediscover the joy of learning. Her motto is: Learning with body and soul.
