Ari Joskowicz is Associate Professor of Jewish Studies, European Studies, and History at Vanderbilt University and lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Vienna, he studied in Austria, the Netherlands, and the United States, and works broadly on European, Jewish, and Romani history since the 18th century. He has published on Jewish anti-Catholicism, Jewish philosophy, and Jewish and Romani memory politics, among other themes. His new book Rain of Ash: Roma, Jews, and the Holocaust just appeared with Princeton University Press.
