Arthur Hoyle is a writer, educator, and independent filmmaker living in Santa Barbara, California. He has published a biography of Henry Miller, "The Unknown Henry Miller: A Seeker in Big Sur" (Skyhorse, 2014), and "Mavericks, Mystics, and Misfits: Americans Against the Grain" (Sunbury Press, March 2020). His third non-fiction book, "The Jealouse Muse," a collective biography of well-known American artists, was published in December 2024 on the webzine Across the Margin. He has also published numerous essays on social and cultural topics in zines such as HuffPost, Counterpunch, and Across the Margin.
