Barbara Briggs Ward's short story, "The Kitchens" , earned 3rd place in the 2021 Saturday Evening Post's Annual Great American Fiction Contest. Her short stories and articles have appeared in two Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Ladies' Home Journal, McCall's and Highlights for Children. She has been a featured author at Target Book Festivals in Boston and NYC. Her first book in a Christmas trilogy, "The Reindeer Keeper", was chosen by both the Yahoo's Christmas Book Club and the Riverfront Library Book Club in Yonkers as their December, 2012 Book of the Month. "The Snowman Maker" followed and "The Candle Giver" completed this heartwarming trilogy. In 2014 her short story, "The Great Berry Pie Cook-Off" was published on The Saturday Evening Post's website. "A Robin's Snow", an Amish soft mystery, was released in 2017. In October, 2018 her short fiction piece, "Sleigh Bells Ring Again", earned 1st place in the short fiction category in Jefferson Community College's annual Writers Contest. "The Tin Cookie Cutter"-yet another story of believing, family and hope sprinkled with a touch of Christmas magic-was released October, 2019.
